Interesting figure about the Facility Fee. You will see Huddersfield were on 10 games and received 12.18m, the same as Southampton and Watford. Liverpool were on the most with 29 games and got 33.46m.The reason why Utd should strive to finish the season as high in the league as possible rather than settling for not being relegated is because of the prize money awarded - see the 'Merit Payment in the table below from last season. The difference between say 7th (Wolves) and 16th (Southampton) is ~£17m, enough for a good player in itself and ignoring the correlation between finishing position and facility fees i.e. how often they're shown on tv. I'm not even going to mention the prize of a UEFA League place....

Posted my comment before I read yours. The share money will be less (due to less overall TV money in the current package); facility fee you have over estimated (see my comments in above post as to why), merit is worth about £1.9m a place so difference between 6th and 10th could be Mousset's fee!; international TV will be higher due to increased international tv monies but also higher up the table will result in more international tv monies (the base is £43m as previous but the extra money out of the deal is being done on merit); central commercial I am not sure about (this was the sponsorship with Barclays and others last year but I don't think the main sponsor has been replaced). If anyone ever needed convincing about the UK broadcast love-in with the Top 6, particularly Liverpool, they need only look at the second column...
More positively, using that table as a basis, finishing anywhere in the top half of the table is likely to net United:
£34m (share) + approx. £17m (facility) + approx. £20m (minimum for top 10 merit) + £43m (international tv) + £5m (central) = £119m
I don't understand the sentiment of getting rid of Robinson at all. He is young, finding his feet at a higher level in an unfamiliar position. He clearly has talent, he is a good age, I see him as a perfect 1st team squad member who we can improve. Unless we need cash now to invest in better then I would much prefer him to stay and deveklop with us. Seems this is unlikely

This year's contract is different due to the Amazon deal and also extra BT games over New Years Day and the Winter break weekends.
Excluding those two packages, we have so far been show FIVE times, (4 on Sky and one on BT) and we are not scheduled for any more until the end of March. Not sure how much the Amazon/New Years Day/Winter break weekend packages will be worth but the general Sky packages involve more games (for less money). The international TV amounts are going up but I suspect we will at best match that of those three who got 10 games last season.
There is a restriction on the number of games that the "big six" can be shown by Sky and BT but (including the selections for March) so far Man City have been picked 20 times, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man U and Tottenham 19 times and Chelsea 18 times. Interestingly, if Leicester finish in the top 3 this year and Arsenal finish lower than 8th, then Leicester will replace Arsenal as one of the big six for TV picks. Leicester have been picked 17 times so far.
Wolves by comparison have been shown 8 times on Sky but none on BT. Everton have been shown 11 times on Sky and 4 times on BT. The number of games we have been shown is the lowest of all clubs.
I can see only three more games of ours that will probably be selected for TV coverage and all home games - Wolves, Chelsea and Tottenham. Leicester away may be a possibility if their Champions League qualification attempt is on a knife edge but I doubt it.
Each merit payment place is worth about £1.9 m. Basically, therefore, we could be in a situation whereby we finish say 6th and because of the facility fee, we actually earn £5-6 million less than say Wolves finishing 7th. People say our income from Premier League payments this year is £140m but I think it will pan out to nearer £120m unless we put a concerted run together to finish in the top 4!
The Liverpool away game was part of the New Years Day package for which every game was shown. Not sure how that and the Amazon package will work for the facility fee which is why I separated them as mentioned. Those two along with the Winter break weekend are new packages for this season. We've been on BT twice haven't we? Both Liverpool games were on BT.
Otherwise, good post. I agree we're unlikely to be on TV much now apart from the 3 you mention. Depends where we and our opponents are towards the end of the season I suppose.
Bit suprised with this to be honest.. surely it be a loan only, i can see him finding his feet eventually but if theres not going to be many oppertunities for him towards the end of the season then surely a loan to west brom could only be a positive for us!
- West Brom potentially get a player to help get them over the finish line ahead of Leeds
I'm still a little surprised that we're sanctioning this on the basis that, we're only an injury away from being very light up top & Mousset has fitness problems.
I guess the thought is that he clearly isn't a striker & we have McGoldrick & L.Freeman who can play in behind.
The reason why he impressed pre season is that they weren’t competitive games against top opposition mainly.Robbo has had some decent moments for us, a couple of valuable assists for us recently. Was scoring for fun pre-season but has been unable to carry that through to the prem for whatever reason. Theres a good player in there for sure.

Maybe, just maybe we have all but exhausted the British talent that can elevate themselves to compete at PL level and the time has come for us to use the more technical abilities of foreign players. Integrating those two styles, cultures, personalities will be a big job for CWAK.I had high hopes for Robinson when we signed him, was quite an exciting signing. Young, British, seen as having a bit of flair, hungry to prove himself (same with Freeman too). Felt like (and still feels like) the right way to do our business
