Mainly because the braindeads who designed it assumed no one would ever stand up.

Thanks to the low rake, forget being able to see anything if the person in front is 3 inches taller. Or is wearing a fucking bobble hat.

It was quiet and disappointing. We didn't do our job and neither did the team. Ref tried his best to encourage us by being a twat, but didn't seem we could get up for it. At the end, glad of a point. We were quiet and they did a good job on us. We weren't intimidating in the slightest

The Lane is rarely intimidating if you ask me. We're lovely.

Why doesn't everyone stand up? It makes a difference to the atmosphere, the team, stops you feeling sleepy and stops DVT.

Do it, it's worth at least an additional 6 points this season and could also save your life.
Have you tried it? I was nearly involved in several punch ups on game one of the season for daring to try. :)

I’ve said it before but always think away days at Boxing Day are better.

A home Boxing Day fixture is always built up as a maquis fixture but I always think more times than not it is a bit subdued due to every one being half hung over from the day before.

The exception was last year against Derby and that only came to life when the ref tried to screw us over.

I think it’s the other way round. It’s more or less the same rake as the old terracing. Nobody when that was originally built would have thought some idiots would put seats on it.......but they did.

Ive not sat down for one second of any match this season on the kop and i'm 66 ( almost) and I've got bad legs and chest pains with too much exertion ( apart from that I'm in rude health).

Can't ever imagine sitting down at football

I would have agreed a few years ago, before the Port Vale snow blizzard.

Shit when did the rules change. I thought it was sitting only in stadiums.
Why don’t you just stay at home and watch it on the tv stood up?

Well you have to be obey rules obviously.

I’m towards the back of the Kop as I prefer standing. Does make you wonder why only the the back 10-15 rows do, especially in big games. Look at the likes of Villa, Wolves, Everton, Man Utd, Spurs etc who have all standing ends behind the goal. Even loads did in the Championship last year.

At least everyone stands up at away games.

Weird that just about every visiting fan and commentaters talk about the "intimidating atmosphere" at The Lane. But a so called "Blade" thinks different. Are you sure you're not mistaking it for Meadow Lane or maybe even a MASSIVE kop at Sheffield 6?

Lot of fuckers with weak bladders yesterday my row was up and down like a pro's knickers.
You must have been on the row in front of me. At one point " what the fuck is wrong with people" came shouting from my mouth. Also 10 mins before H/T they were all trying to get down the steps to go for a piss/ drink and we could see sod all.
