At the start of the season, these were the fixtures that I was dreading as I thought we’d get hammered. After the start we’ve had, I feel less worried but they are world class sides and we’ll do well to get anything. Of the two matches, I actually fancy us to nick something at Liverpool as I think their setup and style of play is one that we can contain. Citeh seem to be building momentum and DeBruyne is on fire. Not rocket science I know but keeping him quiet is the key.

Watched Liverpool labour in that Club World Cup shite yesterday and they always look vulnerable down the flanks for me which was duly highlighted in the game at the a lane.

Citeh obviously a new proposition under Wilder but definitely not the team of last year. Just need to nobble de Bruyne as your say. Can just see Bash sliding in a la Grealish at home last year and taking the ball whilst leaving him in a heap.

Watched Man City last night and was surprised how sloppy Leicester were, but also how good Man City are on the attack.

They look a much different team to the side that played Norwich at the start of the season. But then Norwich took them by surprise. Might be that Leicester were having an off day after their league cup game midweek.

Man City are also moaning about the xmas fixtures which is nonsense really as every team has to do the same. They will rotate their squad over xmas and new year games.

Liverpool are also unpredictable. That qatar trip will have disrupted things but they also have a hard run of games over xmas. They have the benefit of knowing us now and will be prepared.

I actually think Watford on Boxing Day will be the toughest game as we will have had a few days since Brighton and we’ll play our strongest side. Fleck will be back.

I think we’ll start changing things around at Man City. Would be great to see Mousse against Kyle Walker as he looks easily exposed against direct players like Pukki and Vardy.

Watford - keep lots of possession and control the game.

Man City - get at them. They don’t like players in their faces. Be direct and get into them.

Liverpool - patient, still work hard off the ball and we won’t have lots of possession, but try to hit them on the counter

Thought it was the best I'd seen City play this season, though I agree about Leicester.

With how the fixtures have fallen for both City and Liverpool (and looking beyond a little) it's gone from looking like a gruelling few fixtures at the start of the season to being arguably the best time to play them.

Yeah, it’s also been a long and hard year for Liverpool, because like spurs, their season didn’t end until 3 weeks after everyone else.

City are complaining because, well it seems Pep doesn’t like games over xmas.

At the start of the season December and January were looking like a nightmare run of fixtures. Now they don't seem scary at all.

If we beat Watford then we're effectively 7 points from safety. Remaining undefeated against Man City and Liverpool after two away fixtures is a lot to ask. As much as I'd like to remain optimistic I don't see it happening, but our points cushion will be enough that it won't unrail our season if we lose both.

Man City are coming back into form but then it's not impossible to catch them on a genuine off day, where we could steal a draw. But they will punish any individual errors at the back. They're ruthless. City is the one where I'd pencil in a potential draw, but not Liverpool.

Personally I don't think we should use either team to draw any conclusions about us.

As we're so adept at pressurising any opponent that has to be the approach we bring to bear, we not only know how to do this well, if we can nick a ball off of our opponents we can then look to keep the ball and frustrate them. Naturally we'd look to create attacking opportunities, but if we came away with 2-3 points from both these games I'd be delighted.
