Well that's one of the relegation spots taken

Had a look on the Villa forum and they seem to think it's a load of cobblers.

Unlike the pigs, who immediately held their hands up and admitted it was a fair cop, guv.

Yeah, does seem to be a recurring theme.

I can't see Villa having an issue though, unless they sign some more players this January. Of course if they're form doesn't improve they'll be up to their peaky blinders hairdos in it.

How the fuck did they nearly go broke and not be able to pay a tax bill of 4.1 million. Get promoted and blow 120 million. Then be a sustainable club. It’s a fucking joke and a shame for every villa fan who has to deal with reckless owners

For any Wednesday fan lurking, and there's a few, more than few, Hiya!

Hahahahahahahajkaicidlsmsjdususyxkksks....

Enjoy this ride, you have us absolutely smashing it in The Prem earning money left right and centre and you're about to get your come uppance.

Could NOT be more deserved. You are so insignificant from this post onwards.

Because they sold the club to billionaires.

The report itself says they don't need to balance books until after the season. They have a huge few weeks against relegation battling sides. Could be in a real mess or have a safety cushion. A few draws wouldn't be bad for us to really create a big gap!

I seem to remember that last season was the last throw for Villa. If they failed to go up then they wouldn't be able to make FFP.

Given that they're spent £100mil+ but are due to land at least £160mil by the end of this season, I'm not quite sure where the FFP has come from, unless their previous debts were so much that the promotion couldn't subsidize it.

Maybe they were banking on finishing so far above the relegation zone thanks to their spending that any FFP points deductions wouldn't relegate them.

If you want to see dodgy FFP manipulation then you should see Forest in action. It's ridiculous but not against the rules.

Fuck all will happen to them. A, they’re premier league and B they’re a ‘big club’ with powerful fans (like the future king of England, for one).

The funniest part of that article was the bit that said Grealish has a £45mil buy out clause. I certainly didn't see a potential £45mil player last Saturday.

They won’t be getting 160 million at the end of the season. Based on there current predicament it will be approximately 110 million. The 160 million is only what promotion guarantees you but includes parachute payments. Given the hefty wage bill (Even the likes of Hourihane are on a reported 40k a week) their spending surely outstrips income significantly.

I nearly fell off my chair when I read that and then realised it was a typo and should have said 4.5 million.
Even then they are having a laugh.

Doh - beaten by the time Greasy sent rolling on the floor - 45 minutes.

Won’t happen sadly.

Villa are that annoying club who just keep getting away with it.
Got lucky last season, Leeds miles better than them and should have taken their spot!

would have been up the creek otherwise!

Villa will find a way around it, but will be dependent on staying up. One things for sure this alleged issue won’t stop them chucking money at it in January. So they will continue to fight for the remainder of the season.

Agree one spot may be taken though....in fact maybe two.
Watford looked decent against Liverpool but will do well to get enough points from this point in. Need 30 points from 20 games. They could also get a couple of players in and with the new manager you never know.

however Norwich won’t be sacking Farke...and won’t be spending much either due to the financial mess they were in. They’re planning to trouser most of their prem money to balance the books.
They look out of their depth, and despite playing decent football look doomed to me. Will finish bottom and do well to get 30 points.

Could be a fair few clubs (including us) looking over shoulders as it’s very tight this season.

Tjat article says their accounts aren't dueninnuntil.the PL season has ended. So they wouldn't be in breach until.afyer the season.
Dont know if they'd deduct points in the close season and potentially change relegation spots?

One rule for one......

On a similar theme, Bolton cancel a game against Donny at short notice and get a slap on the wrist and a 5 point deduction suspended. Bolton were a PL club in recent memory.

Macc Town miss a game and dealy player wage payments and get a 6 point fine, Macc were non-league until recently.

Its all about 'who you are' and we of all clubs, should know that. After all; "it wouldn't be fair on the fans".

Bolton miss a game.
Macc miss a game and pleaded guilty to not paying their players.
So it’s not the same.
Bolton were given a soft penalty because they’d just been taken over after nearly getting kicked out of the league under their former owners and are already on a 12 point deduction. Personally I’m not convinced that’s a good enough reason and I understand several club owners feel the same.
Macc’s owner has been shithousing for weeks, similar to the messing about Bury’s owner was doing. Someone is trying to buy them but the owner is making it difficult despite being unable or unwilling to meet his financial commitments. This has been going on since last season when the players didn’t get paid on time.
You can argue Bolton’s punishment was too soft but Macc deserve what they’ve got.

No problem with the Macc penalty and that should be a default for missing a game. Clubs sign up to the league rules at the start of the season by virtue of their continuing membership and have various obligations to fellow members. One is to play scheduled games.

The fact you have new owners was also used by the CheatinAmmers, as if all previous misdemeanours no longer count.

5 points suspended is no sort of punishment at all, despite Bolton not fulfilling their responsibilities to fellow league members. To make it worse, their manager Keith Hill even had the gall to say he had no sympathy for other clubs.
"I have no thought process leading into sympathy for any other football club in League One."

They have dodged one.

Relegation doesn't really concern us to be fair. But if I had to predict it would be Watford, Naaarich and Vile

Hope so. I’ve not got anything against Villa but I’d like to see a big club go down as it looks like a couple of big clubs will come up. If I could choose the big club (from the realistic ones) it would be West Ham. Although someone like Arsenal or Everton would be piss funny.
