Yes, but the linesman's flag doesn't control the game, the refs whistle does.
So why not get rid of linesmen, if they can interfere with play like today then get rid.

Spot on. That excuse of commentary was a disgrace. Also linos told not to flag unless its clear and obvious. If clear and obvious they are not supposed to use var. If he kept his flag down then fair play, he didnt, our players did nothing wrong stopping playing. Pity jenas and ferdinand are as thick as pishit with their play to the whistle bollox. How is this even a debate? You have a linesman stood near halfway with his flag up, effectively out of position, the ref not signalling play on until our defence have no chance to recover. How can you expect players to know what’s happening.
This is compounded by possibly the most hilariously one-sided coverage I think I’ve ever witnessed.
Why was didsy blown offside just now without first consulting VAR then...shouldn’t we play on without a whistle on the off chance the lino was wrong?! They’re picking and choosing and it’s the confusion caused by the inconsistencies that causing the issues
If players have been told linos will only flag is a player is clearly offside, then it's understandable they'll want to save their energy etc if they see the flag go up.
Henderson -5million now. Calamity Henderson. Lazy effort. Even Moore would have saved faceRegardless, we know that it is going to get checked anyway so the official line is "play on" until it's checked. Shelvey did, our defense didn't. We risked conceding a goal & got stung for it. Nobody else to blame but ourselves here I'm afraid.

Well For 4 players to stop I'd say theres a good chance they have been told something like that.
What's all the fuss about?
It was a perfectly good goal.
Why did our players stop when he was clearly a mile onside?
Clearly a Mile onside ???
If so then why did they use VAR. You need to take a look at the VAR photo as he was only inches onside.
If flag goes up whilst play is ongoing its clear and obvious, which apparently should not then be overruled by varWhat's all the fuss about?

Got shouted down for saying this earlier. The same person I believe also said the ref blew (he didn't)Yes, but the linesman's flag doesn't control the game, the refs whistle does.
Only fucking clowns here are the ones who don't keep playing until the ref blows the whistle. Guidelines or not there's always been one guideline that every single footballer on the planet has been told to adhere to no matter fucking what...play to the whistle. Why didn't the ref blow the whistle? Did he think his mate had dropped a bollock (he had, as it turned out)? And if so, shouldn't he make that clear to all the players on the pitch, so we know to keep going? Pre-season, they said that they wouldn't put the flag up unless they were sure, so when we see the flag up we assume it's clear and stop playing. If he hadn't put his flag up, no problem. Fucking clown.
It doesn't explain why there was a massive hole in the middle of our defence, though.
Well fucking said Wilder. Give that man a standing ovation
Soooo...what's the point of telling linos to keep their flag down if unsure if they are gonna go to var regardless?Only fucking clowns here are the ones who don't keep playing until the ref blows the whistle. Don't disagree with you on that but we all know the oldest adage of all is keep playing til the ref blows the whistle to stop the game. Regardless of newfangled guidelines/suggestions/etc...play to the fucking whistle.Soooo...what's the point of telling linos to keep their flag down if unsure if they are gonna go to var regardless?
Anyone blaming our players tonight for that 2nd goal need to wake up.
Here. And our entire defensive line. And Wilder by the sounds of it.Only fucking clowns here are the ones who don't keep playing until the ref blows the whistle. No no, go back to sleep.Uuup. Sorry. I had gone to sleep there. But I'm awake again. Is there anything I should know?

Knew he'd come good.Yep, petr katchouro scored a brace in the last 5 mins
He was a lot further onside than Lundstram's toe was offside. VAR was used because there was a pissed up linesman who couldn't see straight put his flag up.Clearly a Mile onside ???

An expensive lesson for our players, and people who are advising our players.
Play to the fucking whistle.
