Thanks for the correction. Apparently, John Wark didn't join Ipswich until the following year.Laurie Sivell, George Burley, Woody and Allan Hunter. Blades 3 (Mills og, Field 2) Ipswich 1 31/8/74
My first match.Boxing Day 1970. We beat Leicester 2-1
v Luton in 1974/75. Adrian Alston is the Luton player on the left. Despite being born in England, he played for Australia in the 1974 World Cup and then joined Luton after the tournament. However, Alston spent just one season at Kenilworth Road as the club began to experience financial difficulties resulting in Alston not being paid at times. Alston later described his decision to reject offers from Germany and return to England with Luton as "the biggest mistake I ever made". He then joined Cardiff who agreed to pay Alston the wages owed to him by Luton. He then went to play for Tampa Bay Rowdies.

Yes October 1973 when Rodney Marsh broke McAlister's leg. Blades 1 (Dearden) Man City 2 (Law, Dearden og) Geoff Salmons and Glyn Pardoe in the photoView attachment 65289
Looks like v Man City
Could be Sir Len of Tinsley. But I'm sure Peter will put me right. Not so much an old photo as a new photo. My son saw this chap in the Directors Box today. He seemed to recognise him as an old United player and sent the photo to me. I can't place him. Does anyone know who he is?

Don't think so. Len's got a less on top than this chap. My son says lots of people were taking his photo so must be someone well known.Could be Sir Len of Tinsley. But I'm sure Peter will put me right.
3/10/70. Top photo is Eddie's opener in the 3-2 win.
..Bobby Charlton. He was a a good keeper - as for "best aerial keeper ever" - I'm not sure about that. He was a tall bloke though - that helps.
The thing I remember him most for was scoring a goal v Wednesday and conceding a goal v....I can't remember who. But I remember the goal very well - he took a goal kick out of his hands from the edge of his box, he turned his back and walked towards his goal after launching it, but unfortunately for him, an opposing player hit it straight back at him on the volley. He knew nothing about it until he saw the ball settle in the empty goal. The look of astonishment on his face was a picture - a "how the f*ck did that get there?" sort of look. I tried to find a clip of that goal on YouTube but surprisingly there's nothing out there, which is a pity because it has to be one of the funniest goals conceded of all time.
Len Badger, Dennis Tueart and Terry Garbett. Man City 3 Blades 1 in August 1975. Anglo Scottish Cup
31/3/75. Lost to a Brian Kidd free kick. Arsenal were kicking our players (especially TC) black and blue. My dad swore at the ref in front of my mum, sister and the Arsenal fans. Furphy didn't hide his anger towards the ref in post match comments
Don’t remind me.Roger Davies. Blades 1 (Field) Derby 2 in October 1974. Had the scores been reversed then we would have needed a win in the last game at Birmingham to be League champions!
Yes. Lost 2-0 to Burnley in first game of the 1973-74 season and it was my first weekend at boarding school. I was thinking of my dad in the BLUT sitting next to an empty seat (later that week when I was reading my dad's match report, he explained that he took his workmate's son to the match and he used my season ticket)
v WBA in Texaco Cup 1972. 1-1 draw
