Is my memory playing tricks again, or were the fences at just about all grounds not taken down almost immediately after the Hillsborough disaster?

Notice the coppers guarding what was the gate? That was the big thing after the disaster, easy access out onto the pitch perimeter, so the fences stayed for a while but with regular gaps to allow egress quickly.

Oggie the best aerial keeper ever.

He was a a good keeper - as for "best aerial keeper ever" - I'm not sure about that. He was a tall bloke though - that helps.

The thing I remember him most for was scoring a goal v Wednesday and conceding a goal v....I can't remember who. But I remember the goal very well - he took a goal kick out of his hands from the edge of his box, he turned his back and walked towards his goal after launching it, but unfortunately for him, an opposing player hit it straight back at him on the volley. He knew nothing about it until he saw the ball settle in the empty goal. The look of astonishment on his face was a picture - a "how the f*ck did that get there?" sort of look. I tried to find a clip of that goal on YouTube but surprisingly there's nothing out there, which is a pity because it has to be one of the funniest goals conceded of all time.

Keith Edwards chipping him from the edge of the area (Bramall Lane end) when he was playing for Shrewsbury is my memory of him.

Game against Man Utd in the 90s, maybe even 1990.

Deffo the 1990-91 season because the Kop became all seater in summer 1991. There is a fan wearing our shirt that was first revealed in summer 1990. It cant be against Man U because it was a February midweek game when we played at home to them.

This was my favourite cinema back in the day...

I had a mate who lived at a pub on Nursery Street. We used to stay over at his place and go to the late night showing around 11pm. I saw Emmanuelle there. Sylvia Kristel. By gum! She wor a fine lass! And that scene where she's swimming naked underwater... 🥴 I went out and bought my first pair of chlorine goggles after that. I do hope I'm not giving the false impression that I spent my youth in seedy cinemas watching sex films?🤔
Used to enjoy the all nighter horror films

Dearden's header from a TC free kick puts us into the lead just before half time in our last away match of the 1970-71 promotion season. Boro's late equaliser from ex-Wendy John Hickton denied us a win

Went to that one. As you can see from the state of the pitch it rained all day and we got soaked on their open end.

Promotion wasn't far away.

Gilzeans goal was a classy header at the Kop end. He could play.
Remember a game at W H L when he scored a last minute winner against us. Probably about Christmas/ New Year time. Blades fans rather pissed about it.

Serves you right, we were on the covered home end. ;)
