While ever Howe is at Bournemouth we’ve some protection from our manager being taken. Unless Bournemouth drop off the end of a cliff he’ll always be a rung above for the likes of Everton who might want to go English.I hope Howe gets it because I want to see Bournemouth fall apart and go back to the old 3rd division where they came from. Then I want us to steal David Brooks off them for next to nothing because he's the most talented player we've had down there since TC and it's about time he came back home to a top Premiership club.
AnotherSpur is this as poor a decision as it seems from the outside?
Maybe a new manager could get some new contracts sorted out if he's a big enough name, but I doubt he's going to get any money.
Poch's heart hasn't been in it since the CL final. I think he wanted out after that but thought he should stay on. He obviously didn't want to resign and miss out on his £12.5mn payoff.
I blame Sheffield United personally.
Mourinho will do his usual, will be great for a couple of seasons and then get bored and force an exit.
Still, if he gets us a couple of cups in the process I can live with it.
The fact no-one has gone for Howe suggests the same is probably true of Tufty although it depends how this season pans out 1st and foremost. Another factor which puts Howe ahead of him is that Wilder hasn't had to rebuild year in year out at this level after key players have been picked off. I still think the 'big' teams are always likely to go for managers who have been there and done it at the highest club level but I agree, the likes of Everton could be a different story. While ever Howe is at Bournemouth we’ve some protection from our manager being taken. Really thought Spurs would look at Howe this time.
To get Mou they will have had to promise him mega money, why not just give that to Potch?
Winds me up comments like "give it to Wilder"Just heard Harry Redknapp being interviewed on Radio Five.
"So, Harry, would Jose Mourinho be a good fit for the Spurs job?"
"I'd give it Chris Wilder at Sheffield United, he's done great things, won league titles, would be perfect, but they won't give it to him, they'll give it to a big name foreigner."
"Yes, Harry, so what about Jose Mourinho."
"Give it Chris Wilder."
"But Harry, what about Jose Mourinho."

A little fact for sad number lovers like myself. Pochettino was manager of Spurs for 2002 days and 202 Premier League games.
Any mileage in the rumour that he was forced to play Kane in the CL final? ( from a Hammers fan)

I for one wouldn't be suprised if they asked to speak to Wilder, I mean, who in their right mind wouldn't, looking at his record so far!!?!!
FA Cup would be the aim I reckon with Mourinho in charge. Should reinvigorate your mardy players until their contracts expire in summer, and I think he'll make you a lot more solid.

That would have been number heaven! But never made it to 2020

Disrespectful to Sheffield United, he's under contract and our manager. They talk like it's a given we'd let him go. Disrespectful to Wilder as well, he might not be interested in that particular job or whichever job they're pushing him for.
The funny thing is, the squad is fractured. Players want out, Rose, Eriksson, Vertongen have all been kicking off lately. The thing with Mourinho is that he's terrible at man management, he breaks dressing rooms himself. Don't know how he'll fix it.
That was the reason he left chelsea, totally lost the dressing room. Weren't they 14th or something daft like that when he left.I don’t think Lampard, Terry, Drogba etc thought he was a bad man manager. Or any of his other players until he went to Man U. They turned him into Roy Keane, ultimately undermining him. No manager can deal with every difficult player, not even Wilder and Man U were toxic. Brian Clough was supposed to be one of the best man managers ever but he couldn’t deal with the Leeds pricks.
Yes, forgot about that. They didn’t like to work hard in training and the rebellion was led by Hazard as far as I can recall. That fat little fuck who’s probably giving Zidane problems at Real. That was the reason he left chelsea, totally lost the dressing room. Weren't they 14th or something daft like that when he left.
I reckon he's the kinda "teacher to nurture his own pupils".We are witnessing the development, with each game, a growth in class. World class players are not born soOf course he’d love to manage some world class players! What manager wouldn’t?!?
I don't think they got him the sack, they clearly wanted to leave, but clubs are waiting for their contracts to run down, so they couldn't sell them.Yes, forgot about that. It’s quite ironic that there are rumours the Spurs players were tiring of the amount of work Poch made them do and he’s been replaced by someone with a similar work ethic.
If I was Jose I’d bomb out Eriksen, Alderweireld, Vertonghen and Aurier in the JTW. I’d make it very clear I considered they were responsible for getting Poch the sack and they won’t be doing it to me.
Good. Let's be careful what we wish forI’ve read the first 200 or so comments about this on the BBC website.
Managers suggested for the job
Mourinho
Wenger
Benitez
Eddie Howe
even Neil Warnock got mention or two.
No one’s talking about Wilder.
