I think you have to reconcile the fact that there are 92 clubs in the leagues, and all their fans have the same hopes and expectations. It is inevitable in competition that some will win, some will lose, some will play poorly, some will play like Brazil.
Aside from the general cost issue and the players wages which I don't agree with, the simple fact above has been part of any competitive sport since time began.
What you need is stronger regulation, a wage cap, the FA to grow some bollocks and SKY and all the rest of the propaganda brigade to sod off elsewhere. Until then we'll get the razzmatazz, inflated wages, inflated ticket prices, 4 clubs winning everything and 88 clubs bankrupting themselves chasing an unobtainable dream.
That's the thing that depresses me, not SUFC.
