This week all the media have been saying how great we are and how we'll cause Spurs problems. But I remember as a kid the same happening before we played Arsenal (in the cup I think) and was so up for it, it was the first and only time I started a chant on the kop. Then we got battered, 5-0 I think.

Another time was on a certain 26th December :(

I hope my pessimism is simply due to being a Blade for so long.

Why worry?

It’s a free hit and no one - but no one has outplayed or outclassed us yet. Bearing in mind the season started August 10th and we are now approaching mid November that speaks volumes.

Yes at some point we will get a a thumping, maybe it’s today. Maybe it isn’t. Maybe we will win. With this team under wilder anything is possible.

Enjoy the ride. Worst case we lose to a top side away. Best case, we beat the fuckers and we know that it’s possibility.

12th November 1949. I'd just had my 10th birthday. Spurs v United was the featured match on the BBC Light Programme (no local radio in those days). With mounting excitement I listened to the commentary. Spurs thrashed us 7 - nil. I still bear the emotional scars.

Todays game is the featured match on Radio 5 Live.

Oh dear...

Don’t start a chant today and we should be ok.

Was only talking about that Arsenal game the other day . I remember 'On The Ball' being on just as I was leaving to get the bus to the match (1979 I think) and John Bond saying we would provide the shock of the round.

15 minutes in ..... 0-4 .

Serves you right for sitting on the kop! ;) :p

Stop fretting. All the pressure is on the Spuds. It's them, as CL finalists and with a team worth several times what ours is and a pedigree to match, in a full stadium of merit, who carry the risk here.

All Wilder has to do is stick to basics and get the players in the right mindset. The longer the game goes on for them, the worse it is.

pommpey

We'll lose 5-1. Moose and Hendo get injured and JOC gets sent off.

Screencap this.

Down here and chatting to Spurs fans and they fancy us too although they're happy with the team they've got out.

I'd be a liar if I wasnt a bit negative about it all today with how the vibe is but nonetheless how great is it that we're now in this position.

History is just that - history.
There's absolutely no reason why we can't win today.
