Very good. If James Harper can find his Reading boots we could have the best central midfield in the Championship next season.
He thinks in several dimensions instead of just 2 or 3.
Fuck me, a time traveller?

Dont see the big fuss with Harper myself, think he shouts and waves his arms alot but is past his best. Think we need someone to do the hard stuff while Willamson is alolowed to dictate our forward play
Yes, what we need is a non-footballer who runs around a lot, gives the ball away and has no creative ability whatsoever.Dont see the big fuss with Harper myself, think he shouts and waves his arms alot but is past his best. Williamson = best player at the club for me. Some would say Wardy but when Willo is playing well, United are playing well. He also links better with Monty for me than with Harper.
Only question mark is against Williamson's fitness and injury proneness. If these are behind him, he should do fine at t'Lane. However, Millers fan that I chat to says he was constantly getting niggling injuries at Rotherham too.
Why change every thread to a Monty slagging thread ,I think we know your ridiculous one eyed view by now. I would be interested to see who Williamson would rather have beside him ,flappy arms mk2 or a hard working ball winner who gives him the room to perform in a winning partnership along with 2 more wingers.
Why don't you read before typing with both feet! My initial post offers the reasonable view that Williamson and the Harper of a few years ago would make a very fine central midfield. No mention of Monty. However, people like you who are obsessed with The Maestro, take offence at the mere contemplation of him possibly being replaced.
Check the sequence of the thread mate. It may stop you looking ridiculous.
Enjoy your Monty: He's great.
So you didn't realise that Brisca was talking about Monty? That's clearly where you went wrong. Your criticism is the literary equivalent of a Monty pass - badly misplaced.Maybe you should read back through the thread again and see who brought Monty up ,it won't stop you looking ridiculous though.
Exactly right mate. There are big question marks over Harper BUT at his best he is undoubtedly one of the top midfielders in the Championship and was comfortable at Premiership level (8 goals from midfield in one season - more than certain midfielders score in an entire career). We should not give up on him just yet. At least give him the opportunity of a full pre-season at the club - preferably under a decent manager. From what i can see Harper is a bit of an all rounder
He flourished next to Sidwell at Reading, who's a quality, passing footballer.
Most of this season he's been playing with Monty in the middle and has not lived up to expectations, though not been bad either.
Williamson seems to be a quality, passing midfielder.
So why not play him with Willo and see what happens, then i think we can really judge him.

For the record, I'm not surprised that some people idolise the terminally limited Montgomery. Our fans have always put a premium on mediocre toilers over footballers. It's the same mentality that has accepted turgid, monotonous hoofball without any real complaint.

i think we're missing an important point here... The Guys got an AFRO!
.....who can play football!I didnt really want to start yet another is Monty good or bad debate but was trying to make the point that a ball player like Williamson will form a better patnership with a ball winner than another playmaker.
Look at all the top clubs they all have a ball winning midfielder
