Crowd tonight

I loved the light show before kick off and the mural of the away supporters ( fucking hell, Fleetwood Town made more noise than those plastics. The " Your support is fucking shit " chant was hilarious considering we hardly heard a peep from them throughout).

I thought kip was excellent. It went a little quiet for a period when we was under the cosh but so did their fans. Tense for us as we didn’t want to concede and tense for them looking to score.

I did love the fact we had a lot of the classics out tonight though not just allez
If you managed to sleep through that then maybe football isn't for you ;)

I thought tonight was pretty loud at times but you expect too much if you think it should be a wall of sound for 90mins. No ground in the country is like that.

I'm not sure what some compare us to to get their opinion.

In the Championship it was Villa and Leeds who got mentions despite me going to both grounds more than once and it being a dull atmosphere.

This season it will be the Palace ultras (megalolz) no doubt.

The only song arsenal fans sung was your support is fucking shit

On a few occasions in the second half it did go quite but this was when we were letting them have the ball and watching it go from left to right and we were (the fans) getting edgy and so it did tend to go quite, until we picked the ball up and off we went again, I thought it was like that against Liverpool to be honest and it probably will when we play any of the top six, until we win of course.

There were quiet patches certainly (due to nerves), but once the sight was in end (TM David Pleat) the crowd joined in a did it's part. There was one particularly lud and insistent chant going on during a sustained Arsenal attack that I was slightly worried would turn into our version of the bounce killer, but fortunately it didn't turn out that way.

I thought the last 15 minutes to sing them home was excellent.

I watched it on the telly (tummy bug, not pleasant, picked it up in Inverness last week) and the noise from our fans was amazing, as Cornwall Blade said the GCB song at kick off brought a tear to the eye, the Sky coverage focused on it with crowd shots. There’s nowt wrong with our support.

That anathema Dean kindly waited for us to finish the song begore he started the game. The old sentimental softie!! 👺

I would think that where you are in the ground influences your opinion of what the atmosphere is like. I stand on the kop in the top corner and the singing is almost non stop. If you are in the quiet areas then maybe you should join in a bit more and not critisise the fans that really get behind the lads. Anyway, what are the quietest parts of the ground, and what the fuck is wrong with them?

I thought that the atmosphere was poor up until we scored (apart from the first five minutes) - even the usually well-received 'Sheff United, hallelujah' on G&H, was met with a tepid response in the first half.

The sound on 5live was immense, all the commentators were creaming themselves over the atmosphere..so were sky, and that montage of the wining goal at the end of the game on Sky with greasy chip butty sang by the fans in the background was what dreams are made of - pure joy, grit, emotion and what it means to be a blade.. the whole football world loves us at the min! Apart from the pigs but who are they ....irrelevant....nobody under 30 actually remembers them...

Spot on Boxer that is the way all fans react to the play as it developes, that's the ones engrossed in the game that is.
The fans have been great so far having lost our last 3 home games the atmosphere at times was very tense ,we all realise how important our home games are and it was a releaf to get over the line.
Tremendous attitude and performance from all that includes the fans.

Anyone got anymore clips/links of the fans/celebrations etc?
Love watching stuff like that almost as much as the highlights 😍

The

Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United, Sheffield United...

chant was good last night. Great when that gets kept going for more than 5 minutes.

You can't blame Wilder for that it's an age thing. With the average age on South Stand being what it is I'm often amazed I manage to get to the front of the urinal queue at half time.

Not being ageist or areaist but the top of B block, lower section, looks like the cast of the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, if it was a B&B in Goldthorpe.

Whole crowd noise was brilliant and I was watching it on Dolby Surround Sound NowTVness. Never heard Chip butty song sang so many times and the highlight clip done to the same song by Sky Sports showing the crowd singing after the match was magic.

Was sat in the BLUT (never again but my lad wanted to try it for the first time). Either there’s a sound forcefield around it, or it was a fairly average atmosphere. I’m going with the latter because all season when up against decent sides, or trailing, the atmosphere has been very tense and nervous, therefore subdued. I think once we play a team where we go 1-0 up early, then 2-0 before HT, then get a third early in the second half, then we will see an atmosphere similar to last year at the Lane. If Villa last year is the benchmark, last night was 30% of that, apart from the last 2mins of normal time plus injury time.

Not saying it wasn’t good. Just wasn’t how some are making it out to be.

The ghosts of the old singing section mute most of the sound in their bitter, resentful ways......

Just to say, watched the game on Skygo and you lot were magnificent tonight - wall of sound from beginning to end. Can’t think there is any team who gets more noise on match days. Thanks for making an exile watery eyed

We weren't. We were quiet. This pig on Owlstalk said so...

Well I thought we were loud and proud last night, there's always the odd flat spots, but overall, very good atmosphere, I had a banging head this morning and a sore throat, and my ears are still ringing, maybe those who thought it too quiet, ought to move seats next season!??
