I like him, if he's a pig he's a funnier pig than topplayersleave

Going to Newcastle
Hull said £15 million
Newcastle said OK instead of trying to get him for £10 million because he's unproven in the Prem.
Newcastle don't believe that by offering less they will unsettle him due to all players having a bad attitude

Newcastle player within two days I reckon

15 mill is a fair price in today’s market for a top Championship striker.
Maupay and McBurnie should also be costing 15 million.

I see the magpies are refusing to meet the 20m demand for Bowen .

Buying clubs have to draw the line somewhere it's getting out of hand. These prices being bandied around make Robinson look very good business.

The likes of Swansea, Hull and Brentford will start to sh1t themselves as the deadline nears if they havent got what they want and prices will fall. These strikers are only one bad challenge or 3 goals by Xmas away from being half what is being quoted at present.

I agree with you about Robinson. He had a similar goals per game record as Bowen too. Robinson was in the last year of his contract though. I think he would have cost us £12m-£15m if he wasnt. Looks to be a very astute signing by wilder so far.

Since we're shooting blanks up front at the moment, could Bowen be a January target?

Out of contract in the Summer, so we could snatch him for a cut price if Hull don't want to risk losing him for nothing. Good record in the Championship, no idea if he could step up to the Prem. Might be worth a shot if we could get him for a decent price. I reckon he'd jump at the chance for Premiership football too.

Are we shooting blanks up front at the moment or is it just that we didn’t manage to score against the current European Champions? We’ve scored in 5 of our 7 games haven’t we?

Anyway, Bowen is a good suggestion if we can get him, I seem to recall Spurs were interested, but he’s not a striker, more of an attacking midfielder.

But we dont have a clinical scorer. All goals are from different players and really, we should have more. Didsy, McB and Robbo have all missed easy chances.... McB to a lesser degree.

We're creating half-chances, players are getting to grips with the division and a couple are out injured.

Really don't need to think about looking at players from the division below who scored less than one of our strikers last season and the same as another.

Bowen is a really good player, but will cost a boatload (no bargains from Hull) and he's more of a winger anyway isn't he?

(Edit, just seen LJ made the same points)

Also, further to the above, it's the quality of chances we're creating that we need to focus on as much as the finishing. There are few full chances we've missed this season and as such have been relatively clinical.

We haven't got a goalscoring midfielder so it's a yes from me.Very mobile player would in my opinion make a positive contribution.

Where do you reckon he’d play and who will he play instead of?

We need more flexibility when the full backs are tied up a wide player would give us something we don't have.
Don't know enough about him to judge his ability to slot into the way we play .CWAK will know all about him , we are in real need of goals from midfield, he would supply some given the right opportunitys

What easy chances have either of McBurnie and Robinson missed?

Robbo has missed a few, notably the diving header from a few yards out earlier in season. He also hit a 1 on 1 straight at keeper, granted, it was offside. Yesterdays was a poor miss, should have hit target.

McB, should have done better with his shot yestetday. Hit it straight at him. It was a poor effort. You'd have other prem strikers to have dobe better.

His header over was difficult, he did well to get anything on it at all.

Thats McBs only real miss.

So they’ve not missed any easy chances then? Robinson did well to get to that header at Chelsea, possibly should’ve got it on target but i wouldn’t call it easy.

I would call it easy. It was 5 yards out.

Posters here have such low standards, we're in the Prem now. Got to be taking them sort of chances.

Same as the two yesterday. Got to do better. McBs straight at keeper, at least make the keeper work for it. Robbo didnt even hit target with his.

Poor finish. FACT.

So, I'll ask you this, you are satisfied with the level of finishing then?

Apart from McGoldrick who’s been guilty of missing a few gilt edged chances yes. Not like we’ve missed many glaring chances.
I’d say making the right decision in the final third is more of a worry, Fleck yesterday the prime example. Should have been a goal.

Disagree with first. Didsy isnt the only one to miss chances he should have scored, his have been the worse, but his play elsewhere has been excellent.

8 games in, our joint top scorers have 1. Not good enough. McB has netted twice, so he can finish, but he should have done better yesterday. He seemed to panic when he got in the space.

Agree with part 2. Bad decision making has been a problem.

We need to sign O.G on a permanent deal in Jan. He's been quality so far

Bowen is not out of contract. If he was he would've been sold. They have the option to extend for another year.

But it's a good shout.

Lump him into the same category as Ollie Watkins.

Every chance we'll need to give our attack a boost.

I was going from transfermarkt which has him listed as expiring.

Ollie Watkins is a good call, I like the looks of him.

Watkins has made an exceptional start but is there anything to suggest he would be more effective at Prem level than Robbo?
