It really wasn’t. That Norwich game was one of the most horrible shit house teams I’ve ever seen. I thought for the most part Southampton were up for it, didn’t roll over but were a decent team and if we’d played like that we’d think we had a good side. They’ve got some good players there. No chance of them being involved in the dog fight at the bottom based on that.

Southampton were killing the clock and time wasting from the start, a booking for delaying a corner in the first five minutes would have sorted it but it's never going to happen.

I was expecting the clock killing to increase after the goal but they still had a go at us, very far removed from the Norwich shithousery.

I would not say its shite but VAR certainly is not doing its job.

One of a few sensible comments and he gets “err”as a reply
We lost we didn’t deserve anything they were decent and won’t be around the bottom three
Stop acting like kids and grow up accept it , move on
we were second best today if they’d took all their chances they have scored 3
Like Norwich to seasons ago my arse

I actually said "eh" but pedantry aside... why don't you actually try reading some of my posts properly, where I acknowledge that we made mistakes and didn't take the chances we created.
I also said that the referee was gash, VAR should have given us a penalty and [in my opinion] it was a soft red card.

Is that clear enough?

Yep, the ref had a bad game but he wasn't the reason McGoldrick missed a sitter (again), Sharp committed a petulant tackle and Norwood kept giving the ball away....

I never said he was mate. Just that he didn't help our cause.

We had chances and didn't take them, and errors ultimately cost us, but sometimes you need a few other things to drop for you from the officials, and that didn't happen sadly.

I had a pig mate gloating that we’d lost a relegation six pointer. I sent him a meme of Britney Spears ‘oops I did it again’ which was number one the last time they played a premier league game. I pointed out that reason too coz he’s a thick pig. Think how long ago that was, I’m in my 40’s, it was fucking a lifetime ago. He fucked off after that. Feel free to use that useful factz
Soton are comfortably a mid table outfit out of position recently because of one Mark Hughes.. don’t forget that.. they’re nowhere near bottom 6
‘Hare Hut’ is a really good manager btw ;)

Its been agreed our finishing let us down. If Soton had been up against a half decent strike force they would have been buried, their defence is shite. Bottom 6 for me.

It said on reports that for disallowed goal VAR had a lengthy look, at our pen it was a quick cursory glance that's what we're going to get. I am on record as hating the PL it centres on 6 teams and 14 upstarts that have no right to be there, we have to start winning games like Soton. I'm hoping Didzy gets his scoring boots on quickly and the others a lack of goals in this league hits you hard, that said I don't think we'll go down as there is too much dross below us. I also tipped Wolves to struggle with 2nd season syndrome and being in Europe, they'll have a hard ride this season, what people must remember is we NEVER win a game after the international break I hate them as they break momentum up.

You want your team to be in the highest league, but man the prem is frustrating at times, from the awful pyros at the start to diving players and obnoxious refs.
But there have been plenty of highs also.

The tinpot mentality rises its head again, if you want us to survive or progress as a club we have to stay in this division and become a lot less naive in our play and start playing with more confidence.

I don’t get a lot of the negativity, though much of what the Premier League represents is seriously off-putting. I enjoyed yesterday’s game, and thought both sides played some really good football. Southampton have good footballers, and the competition between Adams, the post, and Deano in the first half was excellent. In the second half, we had bad luck in front of goal, as well as poor finishing, and the game was competitive to the end. Much as the Championship has the benefit of being a more even competition, and we win more points there, I don’t get the nostalgia for it. How many times did people on here complain about the standard of refereeing? Just about every match? The PL has its cheats and play-actors, but of the 3 worst offenders in the Championship (Gunn, Maddison and Grealish), we have seen 2 at the Lane already this season, and I reckon Gunn and Maddison have gone from being total scumbags to mildly annoying. Progress of sorts.
Having watched United since 1953, mainly out of the top division, I would love to see us established in the Premier League for a long time to come.

Southampton did not cheat .They found a way to win an We didn’t have the answer. Its football.

I'm sure Wilder and the players are hating playing in the Premiership, some people can't just enjoy the ride

Razzmataz BS, diving cheating cunts, wank refs, VAR, wank away fans, knobhead pundits. I enjoy the Championship far more.
I agree in many ways. I think we have been a bit naive and we are getting mugged by other teams cheating and playacting . The quality of refereeing so far and the level of feigning injury and playacting I have witnessed in the five games so far is disappointing .
Unfortunately I feel, unless we acclimatise to the Premier League ethos we could well struggle .

Eh or err both patronising so that little discrepancy doesn’t matter really

So you still haven't bothered reading anything else I wrote then, before having a pop. Nice one 👍

Had you bothered to, you might [or might not I suppose} have realised that the reason I replied "eh" is because the post made little sense. It seemed to be having a go for saying we were robbed, when I had been making a number of other points about the game and why I thought we lost.

But congratulations anyway, 7 posts in over 2 years and you have used 2 of them to entirely miss the point.

It's not so much hating playing in it, it's what it stands for and represents it has shown it is possible to polish a turd. I mean the fireworks (Yank razzmatazz) the shaking hands before game (right bollox) that is worst of all is the gamesmanship and bias towards teams. I don't think the players are naïve I think they're too nice at times, Chelsea scored 2 on back of OUR errors cut them down or out we'll do okay.

The razzmatazz is part of the Premiership/Sky package nothing to get excited about. Gamesmanship goes on in football in all divisions by all teams, you can't be saying the Blades don't use it?

Its apparently the best league in the world...

Its keeping so many really shit Pundits in work - Andy Townsend seemed to be on the Norwich v City game, Garry Birtles on our game!

If there is a more miserable twat behind a microphone at a football match than Garry Birtles, I'd appreciate someone giving me his name so I can avoid the twat.

Duplicate post, sorry

Edit: Can I just take this second, unexpected opportunity to say that Garry Birtles is a miserable, complaining sod, who has a much higher opinion of his own ability as player than the rest of us put together.

With the hindsight of 26 hours calming down, I don't think Southampton were any great shakes, but they're not relegation pushovers either- no-one is. The referee was outlandishly bad, but so were Didsy's attempts on goal. Could have gone either way, but I agree with those who think we're a bit naive. Our falling over attempts clearly aren't as good as the teams who've spent more time in the PL. I hate it that football has come to be that "the best " are the best cheats, but sadly that appears to be where we are, although I think we'll do ok without falling too far into that abyss. Yesterday wasn't great but we've had a lot worse times in the last 10 years. Everton's got clobbered today too!

I laughed at a comment by my nephew yesterday (he’s 6). We were sat at the match and asked if they thought we’d score with around 10 mins left. He said “na, I want to lose as well, we can get relegated and win loads of games next season”. Smart these kids.

Personaly, i think it's a bit pointless complaing about VAR and bad referreeing. The same with cynical players trying to bluff the referee.

We can only concentrate on the things that our side can influence. Missed opportunities apart, that would be team selection and tactics. I'm sure there's a place on here for blowing off steam, but this isn't it.
