George Smith, Eddie and John Hickton (ex Wendy). Blades 1 (Dearden) Boro 1 (Hickton) Sept 19th 1970
I remember my mum and dad taking us into town to see the Christmas lights in the early seventies.
Is that a slur on us Broomhill Boys?At Broomhall carnival ? Bet you weren't the only one.
Great photo for Blades kit combinations despite it looks appalling. T/V must be involved. Believe game in photo is 14 Nov 1987 lost 2-0.

Yeh you're all dyslexicIs that a slur on us Broomhill Boys?
Having had a strong connection with Sheffield Markets for the greater part of my life I find this photo very sad. Historically and traditionally Sheffield's market area, to see it flattened and grassed sums up the Councils ineptitude to organise by keeping and adapting the best whilst adding the new. Bulldoze and rebuild their only manner of work.
Excellent attempt, I would have gone with that but I do believe ECL has trumped us, so i'll go with Fountain Sq. Thank you,Balm Green?
Thank you, I had read it in the past, the grey matter and all that. Regards your next post, thought the same but then thought may be not seems to be an age difference.Although Balm Green runs down the side of the City Hall, this little patch of greenery is called Fountain Square.
Theres loads of pictures knocking about earlier in the thread of the pitch at the end.Remember that trip very well , good weekend in Brighton with the lads & as I recall got a bit lively at the end
Puts the modern idea of "restricted view " into some context!!
