Had 2 of them from the early 70s. Remember walking miles with my head down picking up empty Park Drive fag packets be they 10s or 20s then cutting the front panels off and sending off for the books.
On a slightly different note and at a much earlier age I thought I'd won a BBC Dr Who painting competition. My prize arrived and I was absolutely ecstatic as I unwrapped what I expected to be a full size Dalek.
The fucking thing was about a foot tall.
Broken hearted I was.

I remember the books well and had a few as a kid, just seen quite a few for sale on amazon if that helps.

Never heard of Park Drive.. though do recall Park Lane, sister mag of Lovebirds and Playbirds. I’m told issue 33 is highly collectible as a Mary Millington special.. younger Blades ask your Dad what happened before tinternet was invented...

Ive got the 2 books somewhere.
There's a pic of hodgy punching the ball against leeds on the back cover of one of em.

I had a couple too, and a couple of Rothmans football year books. Bacca companies sponsored loads of stuff then, wouldn’t be allowed nowadays..

Mary Millington was in many a film at Studio 567 on the wicker...errr that's what I heard anyway ;)

Cheer yourself up by buying the Star Wars 'X Wing Fighter'. You 'only' need to buy all 100 issues of the mag. - total cost £979.02. Bargain.

I had a couple of them, mainly due to my Blades supporting Uncle smoking to many them, but also remember picking up empty fag packets you'd regularly find on the street. I had that one with Best on the cover and the one that came out the following Year, which could have had Best on the front again.

My dad has got one, 73-74 I think.
He showed it me a couple of weeks ago. Has Best and Law on the front cover. I didn’t have a chance to look as it. Maybe next time I am I. sheffield. ....

Expecting a full sized fucking Dalek
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Couldn’t you tell from the packaging?
Or did you expect the package wouldn’t be indicative of the size of the contents in some reverse Tardis sort of way?
😂😂😂
Great post 👍🏻

March 30, 1968. FA Cup quarter-final. Crowd 48322.

My tenth birthday and my first game away from home outside Sheffield. I’d been to see United at Hillsborough twice in 1966 and also in January 1968.

I’m on that massed bank of terracing in the background but well away to the left as you look. On my own. I went with a bloke who lived across the road from us. His son and his son’s mate (both older than me) also went. We all had tickets for different parts of the ground. As I recall, before kick-off he simply pointed to a shop or other landmark about half a mile from the ground and told me to meet him there twenty minutes after the game finished.

Look on the bright side you didn't win a prize on Jim'll fix it.

They'll be asking for Turf cig cards next...….

I had the full set of Turf cigarette cards , collected around 1950 .

About 40 years later a group of us were talking about them and one bloke said he could remember which number every single player was and reeled a few off .

One of the group thought he was bullshitting and tracked down a set via a dealer in London and , the next time we met , put him to the test .

He got every one right !!

Silent, is this photo the 1967-68 FAC 6thR match or the later, 6th April 3-0 league loss? I used to know but sands of time and all that, thank you in advance. Also, anyone, who's the filling in the J Charlton (Spit), Hodgy sandwich? Surely must be Mallender, again thank you in advance.
