Is Jess looking over the city from Meersbrook Park? We had a walk up there yesterday morning and that view looks about right.
 
It was good, I didn’t appreciate it as much first time round after a few bevvies!

Love the old shot of the kop at 0.19. Wonder what year this was.

Quite clearly see where the central aisle was running across the kop.
 
I might be in the minority here but I found it fucking cringeworthy, reinforcing the "gritty northerner" stereotype.

Jess Ennis is a part time Blade at best
The Arctic Monkeys are pigs if anything.
There aren't any blast furnaces coughing smoke into the atmosphere.
Bramall Lane isn't the "oldest stadium in the world"
I'm not sure football's been played there since 1793.
They don't mention that the narrator almost smacked the bloke we see at 00.28

I alternated with lump-in-throat and foot-through-the-telly throughout. Either way I'm sending the bill to the BBC.

Should have been Matt Fitzpatrick and Kell Brook with a side of Jess Ennis as they actually currently support us, maybe Kyle and Harry.

Def Leppard, cutlery, silversmithing, less Warnock more Wilder, modern tunnel footage - there's plenty from Sky's build up they could have got cleared I'm sure.

I suppose it's too much to expect the BBC not to do the bare minimum, they can't even decide which badge to use. First week it was old badge in the studio, new badge on the VT, this week new badge in the studio and the old badge on the post match stuff.

Also, and this is not a dig at Deano, but I hate any mention of "Premier League records" as these records erase the feats of any player pre-1992 from the history books. The English top flight was called the "First Division" for most of its history, before being re-named first the "Premiership" in 1992 and later the "Premier League". The top flight was expanded from 20 to 22 teams in 1991 and reduced back to 20 teams in 1995. It's not as though it was a brand new competition - it was basically a rebrand with new income distribution, giving the clubs involved more cash and less for the rest.

I imagine the BBC based on the old tunnel footage, if we'd done it we'd have just gone and filmed a bit of footage in the tunnel with the new wallpaper and stuff.

Largely agree but at least that goal makes us an entrenched part of PL history whether the powers that be like it or not. Sorry Sky and co, you ain't going to airbrush us and our ilk out of football history that easily.

Even more out of place were the winding gear pit heads, we’re not feckin Barnsley or Scabs, we don’t have mines in Sheffield.
 
I don't want to nitpick but well there were colleries at Tinsley Park, High Hazels and Birley. And don't forget the Nunnery Colliery just up the Parkway.
But I can't remember any pit head gear...but it must have been there at one time since United were formed... just saying :)

Im picking your being sarcastic ;) . The blokes a self absorbed twat and I speak from personal experience
 
Loved it, but they should have shown Walker, Maguire, Calvert-Lewin and Brooks to reinforce that we also produce footballers. I've only excluded Lowton as he doesn't seem to be as well known as the others to neutrals.

No close personal experience, but he used to sit on the Kop in front of us in the 90s. He was getting famous then, but always seemed fine with people. I expected him to miss games with filming commitments but was a bit disappointed to see him go prawn sandwich.

Some of his mates were/are knobheads though, so maybe you're right.

Knew him when I was 18.He was a miserable sod then. Saw him some years later at Reading ,long story short denied knowing the two mutual friends I politely asked him about. "Don't know what your fuckin on abaht" was the response. His parents on the other hand were very decent,down to earth people.

Perhaps that's what money and fame does to some.
