VAR question: PL project

I realise there’s an ongoing thread that touches on this but an outside agency has asked for our help with a project before the season and thought it would be worth collating your answers in the one thread.

With the PL due to start, we are marking the implementation of VAR to this year’s league by submitting a list of top past moments in previous PL games where VAR would have changed the outcome.

With this in mind, would you please be able to confirm 2 key moments with us where you think VAR would have drastically changed the outcome of the game?

Chris Morgan’s “intent” and Luton Shelton’s penalty at Old Trafford spring immediately to mind.

Shelton at OT. Obvious penalty and red card.
Tevez stopping the ball on the line, in an offside position, at Blackburn but the goal being given.

Both unbelievable decisions in retrospect - nothing before or since has made me more suspicious of a dishonest referee

I think they’ll run into technical difficulties with VAR involving Manure and the Scouse bastards.

Therefore an incident similar to Luton Shelton’s will be deemed “no clear picture of the incident so the original decision can’t be overturned”

And for Gerrard “we can’t confirm that no contact happened”

But the laws state that there has to be contact for a penalty to be awarded.

Impeding the progress of an opponent without contact is an indirect free kick.

Controversial, but I honestly don’t really mind the Gerrard one that much.

The Luton Shelton one, though, was full on bullshit. It’s a red card twice.
