I realise there’s an ongoing thread that touches on this but an outside agency has asked for our help with a project before the season and thought it would be worth collating your answers in the one thread.

With the PL due to start, we are marking the implementation of VAR to this year’s league by submitting a list of top past moments in previous PL games where VAR would have changed the outcome.

With this in mind, would you please be able to confirm 2 key moments with us where you think VAR would have drastically changed the outcome of the game?

Chris Morgan’s “intent” and Luton Shelton’s penalty at Old Trafford spring immediately to mind.

We’ll take the most popular two responses at 9pm tonight and submit them.

Shelton at Old Trafford for sure and Morgans intent against the Scousers for me too. Wankstain incidents, both of them. Roll on the new season :(

Kozluk at West Ham in that season

Think you've nailed it with those two.

Both unbelievable decisions in retrospect - nothing before or since has made me more suspicious of a dishonest referee

We did score an off side goal at Watford that Premier League season that won us the match one-nil..

😬

I think they’ll run into technical difficulties with VAR involving Manure and the Scouse bastards.

Therefore an incident similar to Luton Shelton’s will be deemed “no clear picture of the incident so the original decision can’t be overturned”

And for Gerrard “we can’t confirm that no contact happened”

I know people never want to believe this, but “intent” is a foul, as described in the rules. So VAR wouldn’t have made any difference.

Our goal at Watford though, and the blatant foul on Luton Shelton at Old Trafford would have been easily solved by VAR.

Same ref for both

But the laws state that there has to be contact for a penalty to be awarded.

Impeding the progress of an opponent without contact is an indirect free kick.
