Isn't that the bloke who was looking for the Far East but found the Americas instead?

Serendipity!

Let's hope that's the case with Wilder as well.
Yes but as he was aware that the earth was round, he'd get there eventually šŸ˜€

They all laughed at Christopher Columbus.
And seeing as Christopher Columbus never got relegated from the Prem to the Champoinship, it just proves they are complete cockwombles.
UTB
Great signings, our kind of players, who the fans can get behind, and sensible in case the we did go down. I feel excited and comfortable with how the window has panned out.

I honestly cannot call this season in view of our new signings. On paper, comparing with previous promoted clubs, we could be down by Xmas. However, if they click, and it works, it would be one of the most fantastic managerial achievements, in not just modern times, but all time.
In terms of probability, it's probably scenario 1.

Joking aside I'm sure our signings will do ok
But Lys and Ravel worry me a bit TBH
Just hope they buy into Wilder's way of doing things and don't start acting like an arse

If we get McBurnie its the best transfer window I have ever known us have, regardless of what division we are in

Compare it to our signings when we went back to the prem in the summer of 06 -

It's not an Elephant's Foot Day, perhaps an Apple Charlotte Day.

To be the former, that'd be us signing a reputable superstar.

#Sinclair

Apple Charlotte from the bread van, sit down and put Stingray on.

My childhood.

To be fair Rob hulse was a cracking signing and we would have stayed up imp if he hadn't had that nasty double fracture.

3million then is greater by comparison to 10 million now as transfer fees have gone stupid

A lot of people are laughing at our signings saying we are preparing for championship next season
Can't be just me that actually sees this as a good thing.

The worst that can happen is that we'll be relegated this season. Making sure we're not dragged down by failures who are still on PL wages (Fulham, Huddersfield and hopefully Villa) would mean we would be in for yet another exciting season under CWAK in 2020-21..
Welbeck, Carroll, Sturridge all available on a free

Totally against the ethos we've built into his club. They're not 'free', they would (amazingly) still cost massive wages for sitting on the treatment table. CW is buying young, hungry, talented players with their careers in front of them, unlike the three you've named.

Sign the likes of Fletcher, Hooper, Boyd etc. and you know where you'll end up. šŸ˜‚

Yeah a handful of them were decent, you just see names like Leigertwood, Sommeil and Li Tie and you think yeah... that was interesting

I still cannot believe we spent £3m on Rob Hulse - £3m back then was huge!!

I actually said something similar on another thread, what we are expecting Columbus to do is now go the moon with sailing boat. I'm not confident though would be very happy to be proved wrong.

I'm excited to watch football but I still think we'll struggle, oh well UTB!

(And its a sensible strategy we have in case we are relegated)
No offense but given your absolute howlers I’m delighted you have said that.

Only very slightly off topicšŸ˜‚ Yes occasionally go to Three Acres but so popular these days you need to book and not really a spot for us locals any more, plus it’s damned expensive as well now !

You're right, it's incredibly expensive. Myself and three of my class of '69 college mates and wives were going to book in there for our 50 years reunion. Far too expensive which is a shame as the food has always been brilliant. Mind you, it's a fair few years since we were last there. Shame the locals don't get in mch,t hough. :(

It just wouldn’t be the same if we weren’t written off by media and pundits alike. But not one of that bunch of lazy, spoon fed buffoons had a vote in LMA Manager of the year awards.
But looking down the list of current Premier managers gives me even greater optimism that we’re just gonna survive but flourish.

Only thing that concerns me is the signing of mousett his stats suggest he’s shit and we could have got better for 10 million but you have to trust wilders signings

We signed Leon Clarke, a man whose career had become a running joke, and turned him into a top player. And all that in the twilight of his career.

Moose is still fairly young, imagine what Wilder could get out of him!

Very shrewd and clever business from one of our own.
Any foreign Jonny as manager would but has beens and hope for the best, I’m happy with this plus McBurnie. Utb

Hey come on what have we got to lose? The worst that can happen is we'll finish up in the Championship, and it's only a couple of years ago we were dreaming about doing that.
It's a no brainer, and a win- win situation all the way to the bank. plus there's a load of supporters of a couple of so called big clubs round here who'd give their eye teeth to be in our position
So come on you RED AND WHITE WIZARDS !!!!!!!

Can't think of the life of me why we got relegated.
