This happens at every promoted club, the new guys come in on bigger wages and unsettle the squad, it’s normal for a few players to kick up about who’s getting the big bucks, the new guys a few years later down the road will have the same argument when the bigger better signings come along each window..

We’ll see what type of manager wilder really is now regarding managing egos.. so there’s a thought.

This is standard for a player who’s rose up from league 1 to the premiership, they don’t like seeing the lambos in the car park after all their hard work getting the club promoted.

I agree though Duffy isn’t worth those wages, he might have earned them for mousett, etc... that’s bound to sting a little..

If he leaves he leaves a legend with a good few quid in his pocket, and all of us to a man wish he was ten years younger..

I hope Duffy reflects on this episode and takes what must be his last chance to make his own "Mark" on the Prem, rather than return to the Championship in this the twilight of his soccer career. He's capable of doing a job for us in the Prem, if he recognises the challenge of healthy competition for the key midfield role he's enjoyed with us, but his head has got to be right first if his body is do what's required for success at this level. I'm not feeling optimistic for him based on what I've just read, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed because this could be a key moment in both his and Chris Wilder's careers.

Duffy's missus should just twat him round head with a frying pan and bounce him down road to Tuftys office to tell him he's staying....
Sorted....

She’s worse than him. Always spouting rubbish on twitter. It’s probably her that’s started it all off!

Wilder doesn't strike me as being one to bear grudges, or cut off his nose to spite his face.

If Duffy puts in the hard graft and deserves a place in the first 11 he'll get one, just as Coutts and Freeman did in days gone by.

If Wilder thinks that he's worth a contract extension by January, he'll get one offered, if not he won't.

Wilder was definitely sounding frustrated about the approach, and the reaction to the request for an extension now being declined, but he said " I gave him the weekend off" not "I bombed him out of the club because we don't need mardy arses or people that don't want to be here"

Mark Duffy's future is entirely in Mark Duffy's hands.

This situation is of his making and what happens next is entirely down to his choice, his work ethic, or his ability.
Poor advice, poor timing, love Duffy he's my favourite player. His feisty attitude and skillful talent is key to our game. Hope he has the sense to recognise his approach was wrong and the humility to make peace and give himself the opportunity to play some part in this Premier League campaign.

I just wonder if this could have been less public until MD had a bit more time to consider things. Just my thoughts.
