RCB Jags
RCM Ravel

I'm thinking of someone who might play both RWB and RCB. If we're just going with Jags as the other RCB that's a bit concerning.

We surely need more reliable, better competition for Norwood than Ravel (and Lundstram). But Wilder seems to have a slightly unsettling amount of faith in Lundstram. I'm hoping the recent links to Sander Berge indicate the sort of midfielder we're looking at. A midfield group of Norwood, Fleck, Lundstram, Morrison and Osborn lacks strength, athleticism and defensive ability.

I think we're leaving the right sided strengthening until last because the current players there are all going to get the chance to start as first choice and the priorities are clearly elsewhere. We can afford to chance it a bit more.

According to the Yorkshire Post, Mousset is expected to be part of the United party who travel to Northampton Town today for a friendly, even though he is unlikely to feature.

He said he was looking at a “23 or 24 man squad”. 23 would mean 4 in. 24 would mean 5 in, and I’d assume the last one of those will be a freebie keeper in his 30s (my preference as I’ve already said would be Lonergan, who’s been training with Liverpool this summer).

Keepers: Moore, Henderson, Other Keeper (3)
Defenders: Basham, Jagielka, Egan, Stearman, O’Connell, Bryan, Baldock, K.Freeman, Stevens, Osborn (10)
Midfielders: Norwood, Morrison, Fleck, Lundstram, Duffy, L.Freeman (6)
Forwards: Sharp, McGoldrick, Robinson, Mousset, McBurnie (5)

I also think Wilder feels that we’ve got sufficient cover in all 3 right-sided positions with Jagielka (RCB), Freeman (RWB), Morrison (RCM).
Think that's about what we're aiming for and i for one would be pleased with that squad going into the season. Don't forget we also have the other premier league loan spot as well, I would definitely see us using that.

Probably announce it an hour or two before kickoff and unveil him to the fans before kickoff or at half time

In the interests of clarity and accuracy:
Tufty said four incomings, not three or four; not four or five. Four. He did not exclude Hendo in any way.

Now informed opinion:

Hendo, Moose, Osborn, OMB. Thatsyerfour.

No but Biggs excluded Henderson by saying " You've signed four already and Henderson will make five so how many more do you think will be coming in"

CW then counted up to four which suggests its Henderson plus 4.

Which would tally with an extra experienced keeper, or additional loan player, to go with the expected signings.

If the players we expect come in...still feel a glaring hole is a mobile/physical (in style if not size) defensive midfielder...after seeing nippy/mobile midfielders for Bristol and Swansea run through us...I feel we could still have a weakness there. Not sure Fleck, Norwood and Duffy/Freeman/Morrison would work at some of the top sides away.

In an ideal world we would sign the 4 mentioned...+ a back up keeper, Reece James (injured till Sept and lots of suitors sadly ) and the above type of midfielder.

Then we may look to move K Freeman, Bryan and possibly Lundstram out on loan.

So 9 in total possibly? Who'd have thought it.... 😇 🙌 🙌 👀 😉

Don't think any of those will be allowed out, certainly JL7.

I think we're even planning to keep and develop Bryan to cover LCB. Useful extra body I guess.

Unless there's a contractual requirement with new investors to buy a French striker this seems an odd waste of £10 million. I record signing would be (thus far) an abject failure. Strange.

You have to think that if someone is seriously posting this type of shit, can they ever have experienced any enjoyment in their whole life? My god it's like the last 12 years never happened

Totally agree pal, I really hope/can see we revisit this thread in 12 months time and he’s turned out to be one of our best signings and is integral to our fast attacking football.

I find it hard to believe most of the negativity on here recently. The journey we’ve been on in the last 3 years has given me memories for a lifetime. You would not have thought that reading some of the tripe and impatience I see on here

PP: “You’ve signed 4, there’s obviously Dean Henderson...that would be 5, how many more – what’s the ideal number of recruits for you this summer?”

CW: “We’re possibly looking at another 1...2...maybe another 4, another 4 to come in, yeah to come in, so that gives us a 23/24 man squad, which I think is about right to go for, we don’t want to overblow the squad...”

So 4 at least would think we'd definitely use the second loan as well

Possibly, maybe, yeah 23/24 If he's not sure who is

God we have some fucking bell ends supporting this club.
How do these idiots function day to day in such abject misery? Some of the comments on here are quite frankly embarrassing and those pulling pieces out of the lad and his imminent arrival really are pillocks.

Make my piss boil
You should see Facebook !
