(On which point, according to Matthew Benham, detailed statistical analysis tells us that newly-relegated teams are almost always overrated, whereas promoted teams are usually underrated. Good news for the Blades, eh?)

If you have me on Facebook, I put up the pre-season fixtures in their entirety 3 weeks ahead of SUFC announcing them (people again laughed at me saying we wouldn't play such poor opposition in Northampton/Burton/Chesterfield/Barnsley), I put where the Betis Friendly was gonna be held, about 3 weeks in advance of any announcement (people again laughed because Betis is in Spain), I put the sponsor launch would be on the Monday..

I mean, I'm not claiming to be ITK or anything, but they're pretty good guesses. ;)

Well, lets just say I was the first to insinuate talks were taking place between us and Maupay, on the 20th of June. Until then nobody had mentioned anything about it. Things change over time, and you meet new people and doing certain things opens certain doors, I guess.. 🤷‍♂️

Not knocking Smith because I like him but he’s got a multimillion pound Villa team promotion and that’s it. Hardly in the same league mate and before you say it my Bladey specs are not on

The reality is, if we find a player that’s desperate to sign for Sheffield United above all others, we’ve probably set our sights too low.
