Whats yoyr view on McBurnie then? he surely isnt a viable option in your eyes either?
I like them both and would like us to sign both.
Not because they are such great players, both could initially struggle in their first season in PL.
The reason why i’d want to buy them is because they fit our club perfectly, young up and coming strikers with potential, hungry with something to prove.
Also because we are buying potential rather than guaranteed PL quality then we should be able to buy them at a good price.
I’d say 10 mill was a fair price last season but because the market has gone crazy then 15 million tops for either player is fair.
It’s always tempting to pay slightly over 15 mill but where do you draw the line before you realise the seller things you’re desperate so you’re being ripped off.
If both have average seasons next season, bet you can pick either one up for £10 million in the January window,
I’d be happy if we bought either but I wouldn’t putting loads of pressure or expectation on them.
I see Maupay as a similar level and style to Sharp but slightly quicker and of course much younger with potentially a big future in front of him.
I see McBurnie as a rough diamond, more of an all rounder, almost a Brian Deane type, he could end up being more effective and more useful than Maupay.
My point is that I think both are currently top end Championship/ low end PL players.
Don’t think either are currently quite good enough for the PL but both have big potential and are young enough to improve (especially under Wilders coaching).
