Neal Maupay

NewBee, he is leaving Brentford, probably not to us.
I was merely pointing out that despite receiving numerous derisive comments, when Banana posted what he did, it was 100% correct.

But that was over a week ago, so he/we cannot be held to account for more recent developments.

What about the second part "
Haven't you got a Barcelonaesque performance against Kiev to talk about on your own web site?"

Loads of posters piled in on Banana when he said that no bid had been received.

Not all (hardly any, in fact) made the qualification which you just have.

Perhaps you are using the Royal "we"? ;)

Actually, Banana started off by saying that Brentford hadn’t had discussions about Maupay, he then changed his claim when it became obvious that it was complete bollocks.

Not sure it was 100% correct, not trying to just argue for arguments sake but unless he is the actual guy who receives bids, however they are made I think his comments can be taken with some caution

Don't get the uproar over Maupay's agent demands even if they are true, which we don't. The fact is the higher you move up the pyramid the bigger the cost, if we don't want to pay it move on.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, Neal Maupay’s fucking agent starts posting on our board.

We do all the hard work then West Ham casually nip in and complete a deal in about 2 hours.

Yep, could see that happening.
The only way WHU could tie it up in 2 hours etc, would be if they went to BFC and asked "What's your asking price?", and then followed it up with "Fine, here it is".

And if there's one thing we know about the two clubs, it's (a ) BFC don't fuck about in these circumstances - "Stump up the money and you get him, don't stump up and you don't"; and (b ) those shitheads at WHU don't even understand (a ), never mind respect it - as their scummy behaviour over Scott Hogan demonstrates:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38708207

And as you are well aware, Hogan eventually went to Villa, not WHU.

P.S. When I noted that "BFC don't fuck about in these circumstances", I wasn't trying to play Billy Big Bollocks etc. Rather it's just how they do things. In fact, one of the reason we can sometimes sign players when other bigger, wealthier clubs are in for them is that players know that if they do right by us, we'll do right by them. This includes accepting any bid which meets our valuation when it arrives, rather than trying to keep them against their will.

This is the bit which puzzles me.

The generally quoted figure for the agent's cut is £800k. A lot of money, no doubt, but in the end, it still only comes to 5% of, say, a £16m deal.

So if between them, player, Sheff U and BFC are already 95% of the way there, I find it hard to believe that they couldn't have got this one over the line by now.

I’m not gonna lie NewBee, that’s the point that’s puzzling us aswell.

Semantics though isn’t it? If negotiations are the finer parts of the deal a bid is implicit if those negotiations prove favourable.

It’s clearly not an a form no ‘were miles apart in valuation’

Tbh, I didn't think it added anything worthwhile to the thread.

And I think I can fairly claim that since posting on here, I've tried to stay on topic, without getting personal.

Every football forums has posters who claim to be ITK, it's up to other posters to believe it or not. Personally I'll wait until Wilder is shaking his hand, as you say £880k if true? is the going rate.

Unless it’s an extra 800k on top of the 5% of course

Hey NewBee, I'm ok with this one

Nothing will happen before Tuesday. Plenty of genuine PL interest. Not certain that he will go (but IMHO likely). As said before it won't be less than our valuation, particularly to a newly promoted club where add-ons are less likely. And, yes, as RC says, agent playing silly buggers.

Depends if he thinks he can negotiate it down, in truth none of us really know what’s going on do we.

Totally agree none of us are privy to transfer, if we do get it over line it will undisclosed. Some accountant might discover something in the accounts next year we will see.

You just copy RC don't you. Tell us something new.

So from your track record expect it Monday/Tuesday?
