Wilder's right, bollocks to any agent who thinks he/she can twist our arm. Let the player's agent look elsewhere, that sort of blackmail should be left to those clubs who are willing to spend recklessly. Thing is, why they do it escapes me as they'll never compete with the likes of Chelsea, City, L'pool etc, but if a player is happy to collect a wage whilst not being a key player then they're not right for us.

At that stage the clubs hadn't held (direct) discussions. That may have changed since.

[I say "direct", since it can't be ruled out that BFC were speaking to NM's Agent in the full knowledge that he'd already been speaking to Sheff U. In fact, I'd be surprised if that wasn't the case.]
