Unless Jags is expected to gallop up and down at 36 we are still none the wiser how Wilder is going to cover Bash's suspensions next season. Konsa would have been ideal, who else could we get?

I'd go as far as saying that Bash should be cover for someone else. I think it'll be a bridge too far to expect him to start week in, week out at this level. He'll be picking up cards left, right and centre, for one thing.

How disappointing - I was convinced this thread was going to be about choices for duvets and throws :(

Teddy Bishop at Ipswich Town would be ideal cover imho. If we stick with the same formation next season, Bash n’ the Bishop could result in a fairly fluid approach and hopefully cover a lot of the pitch.
Is there a player named Bosh out there?? We could have a back three of Bish Bash Bosh

I reckon Bash should be used as cover for a new RCB and deployed in midfield away from home/against the top 6 a la Leeds away last season
The idea of signing cover players is a nonsense. Every player we sign bar maybe 1 or 2 should be signed expecting them to compete for a starting shirt.

That's how you improve, and we do need to improve

Agreed. We should only be signing players that are an improvement on what we already have...genuine competition for places, none of this here to make the numbers up malarkey. Only acceptable exception would be youth with potential

A friend mentioned that someone called Cranie would be ideal for that role .

Anyone know anything about him ............ ?

We’ve got to go in for Reece James for me. Would be perfect for that position or could even play in midfield. I’d like us to have a look at Callum Chambers too. He could play in a number of roles for us.

We can afford to leave it late for the second loan and see who becomes available. Reece James is the one we should be hoping for.

How long is Reece James’ recovery going to take though? He was in a hospital bed in his most recent insta post. Also got the Chelsea transfer ban to contend with for that loan signing.
Agree though, he would be perfect for the overlapping RCB role - got the pace and engine to get up and down, and the physicality to perform the defensive side. Oh, and not forgetting that he looks like he’s gonna be one hell of a footballer.

From previous reports his injury may just take him past the end of the window, but there are suggestions Chelsea could still let him out, with Palace being linked.

Gerrimin then! Henderson and Reece James would be a very astute use of our two loan allowance

Would have gone for pontus jansonn if he was goin for that little , good player

Average to good defender, massive twat.

Glad we didn't.

Don't think Bash will be going for £75m next window but I think he'll be alright in the Premier League.

Agree that he is a massive twat but is a quality player and does what bash does in running forward with the ball

The ability to also play central midfield, not just carry the ball forward from the back, is vital for this signing.

Bash beats more people than anyone else in our team I reckon, don't think Jansson is as good with his feet, given the balls ups in Leeds defence it's questionable whether he's better at the back too.

I'd have been with you if we'd gone up 17/18, really thought Bash was a defensive liability, but he really came on last season, probably due to Egan and Norwood adding defensive steel.

Don't think he's as big a weak link as most.
