Broken clock and all that.So Foxy has said that there is more than one offer on the table for Maupay, we don't know if that's personal terms, transfer fee, add-ons or what but there is more than one offer to collectively consider. It may be that the personal terms we have put forward are acceptable, (although knowing Agents they are never acceptable whilst there is a possibility of something better) and it is the structure of the deal that is not attractive, (small amount up front, installments, etc).
Or it could be like Waghorn, we have put our terms forward and they are stalling to see if someone else can beat them, (which Derby did with Waghorn)….if that's the case, we know we offer peanuts in comparison so JL94x4 may indeed get this one right!!
Sounds like a fee has been negotiated, based on RC’s recent post, despite no formal ‘approach’ or bid.
Agent playing hardball.
Unfortunately, a neccessary evil although they do seem to hold too much power over the whole deal. The alternative is owner's/chairman sorting out deals, and we all know where that would leadAgent will very much want the deal to happen. They are so pivotal these days. In many cases the buying club will simply tell the leeches how much they are prepared to spend on the player over a defined period. Fee, wages, bonuses the lot and then leave the agent to sort out with the selling club how that will be divided up, often to his advantage. Of course selling club may say no deal in which case Mr Leech goes back to buying club and the wheel turns again..
No wonder it takes so long but sadly, the leech is at the very heart of it.
Yes, he is a Blade. There was an article about him in a programme a few years ago. A friend of TC's I believe.Yes, it’s the same free lance veteran journalist Michael Morgan, who is currently attached to The Sun.
He was interviewed by Alan Biggs on Sheffield Live the other year, he’s knows loads about Sheffield football and has attended both grounds from the early 70’s.
In the interview he makes a jokey insult towards Sheff Wed, so assume Morgan might be a Blade.
He’s not very tall though. I can’t see any of those looking at him apart from maybe Leicester as they tend to go for big strikers. West Ham are chasing Gomez who’s well over six foot. They are looking to get rid of Hernandez. Palace seem to want a Benteke replacement (talk of Wickham being their main man), Burnley have just signed Rodriguez.Villa, Palace, Burnley, Leicester, West Ham all potential dangers to Utd landing him and all able to gazump the offer
You know what happened to him though.Patience, CW will catch our fish

BREAKING NEWS
Sky sources understand the deal to take Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez to West Ham United is off.
West Ham offered the £45m release clause to the Spanish club but could not agree a payment structure.
Gomez is now closing in a move to Valencia. He is expected in Spain tomorrow to finalise the move.
Valencia have offered cash plus players to seal his signature."
Could they turn their attention to Maupay? They probably need to buy two strikers too with Carroll and Arnautovic leaving and trying to offload Hernandez. Would leave them only with Hugill I believe.

In all fairness I think they’ll set their sights a bit higher than a champo forward. They love a name.
I'm holding my breath like everybody else, hoping this transfer goes through (which I think it will) but I can't help imagining how embarrassing and depressing this thread will look if it turns out the Brentford fans on here were correct and Wilder hasn't even considered signing him or an approach hasn't even been made.![]()
or SturridgeWelbeck would be such a West Ham signing on a free

They have shit loads of attacking options at the moment.
Anderson, Fornals, Yarmolenko, Hugill, Antonio, Hernandez, Lanzini, Diangana.
Grandted only Lanzini, hernandez and hugill are out and out strikers, but arnautovic wasn't, but he played up there. Personally I don't think they need to replace him, they have enough when you consider the above.
Anderson - Winger
Fornals - Midfielder
Yarmolenko - Winger
Hugill - Striker who scored 6 in 37 in the championship last year
Antonio - No idea where he plays, certainly not a lone striker
Hernandez - Striker who they are trying to offload
Lanzini - Midfielder
Diangana - Never heard of him but apparently he is a winger
They clearly feel they need a striker seen as they were trying to sign Maxi Gomez. Hopefully they don't target Maupay but I am struggling to think of who else they could go for.
They have signed Fredericks, Hugill and Fabianski all from Championship clubs in the past two years, I wouldn't be surprised if they went for Maupay

Fredericks? I can't let you have Fulham being a Premier League club and Swansea being a Premier League clubMoyes bought Hugill though didn't he? Moyes is more likely to shop in the English league system than Pellegrini. Also they were flirting with relegation at the time, so it might have been a bit of future proofing.
And Fabianski wasn't bought from a Championship club, he was rescued from a relegated Premier League club, never played in the Champ.
