If there is a shifting in Brentford’s valuation for the worse, I would imagine fairly soon there will be a question over going to a different target. If we’re wanting to get quality in, this will inevitably mean longer negotiation. That does require a quick judgment on the likelihood a deal can be reached. I personally would shift the focus to McBurnie if it looks like we’re reaching an impasse.

I don't know RC (well the original one I do of course). I have no reason to doubt what you say re his accuracy. However he says that you may bid (or have bid, or have agreed of fee of) £11 or £12m. I can tell you for an absolute, cast-iron, copper-bottomed, actual, true fact that that won't land Maupay. And neither have you bid that and neither have you agreed a fee for that number (or any other number).

This is why people who are genuinely ITK should just keep their trap shut. It may have looked dead on that Maupay was going to sign but things change quickly in football. Gage hasn't helped anything, as a strong link to the club he shouldn't be baiting every United fan out there into a flurry of excitement and then ultimately disappointment when it turns out the deal doesn't work out. Not that the deal is dead because I have no idea, but the principle is still there.

Then he’s staying at a hotel near the ground... strange that, as he was at the Friendly last night with the rest of the squad. Seen by many fans and photographed and can be seen on teamtalk. Your Mr Gage then says this morning that Brentford have moved the goalposts, really. A bit of backtracking here. Its now 15:30 Sat and still no announcement from your club, are you sure your ITKrs are just that ?
I can assure you the goalposts haven’t been moved, we don’t work like that. £20 million is what he’s valued at so we’ll get that or very near either from yourselves or someone else if he goes this transfer window. Which is all Les and Banana have been saying , not that he wouldn’t sign for you, again he may well do. As to Banana just getting stuff off Twitter he was joking, he’s as close to the clubs owner and the DOFs as anyone and if he says ( as he did last night ) there’s been no bids. That would have come from them. So rest assured you haven’t placed a bid as of last night. If you get him you’ll be getting a great striker.
