i didnt really want to go into this because this is about football, Brentford & if we are going to do something extremely out of character for the club & the manager

You know how agent's make their living right? They don't just sit there hoping the phone might ring because someone wants to buy a player. They tout their players continually and that might end up in conversations with other parties about what kind of deal a player might be willing to accept and an agreement that a buying club might meet those demands if they can do a deal with the owing club. That's how it works.

Yeah but what you need to take into account is that Brentford play really, really nice football so they’re allowed to be arrogant. It doesn’t win them many matches but apparently that doesn’t matter.

I think talent wise Brentford have some of the best players in the league but they always seem to be inconsistent. I'm not so sure about their new manager either, I really rate Dean Smith though.

Nothing against Brentford but I do recall they were quite dismissive of when we played them in our first season up; can't remember about this season.

We do share a love of Bob Booker though so there's that in common.

Ultimately if he signs the ITKers on here were right if not they were wrong. I personally hope we sign him because I rate him and think he can get even better. If not C’est la vie and hopefully we get someone as good.
Brentford are irrelevant to me unless we play them. We have got some good players from them and I’m grateful for that. They do need to decide what they are though (as my good friend who supports them agrees). Are they happy being mid table championship whose business model is to buy cheap and sell for profit or are they going to build and really go for promotion ?
What happens with Maupay could be telling.

We are in the Premier League and we’re not there as a novelty item. We are in a position to buy Maupay and may very well do so. It’s not a fanciful notion.
