Call me a slasher, hater etc but I'm very, very worried if that's our strategy.

Scrap around for some championship players and cast-offs 'with a point to prove'? We'll be very lucky to reach 20 points let alone 40 at this rate. This strategy has worked wonders for us before, and who knows it may again and I pray I'm wrong and that this gets bumped back up in May, but this is the PL and is totally different.

A 100% morrison would be playing at man united , i dont see the problem in signing him its risk free if he causes trouble get rid if he knuckles down we might have a top quality prem player for peanuts

If it comes off successfully it will feel fairly unique. Can anyone think of any equivalent player that at 26 had barely 50 starts to their name and yet went on to have a successful career? I can’t think of one in any of the 4 divisions, let alone the top tier.

Guy whittingham nearest I can come up with. Bought himself out of the army when he was 23. Played for minor teams, never really hit the scene til he was at least 2 or 3 years older

Morrison grew up in a very rough area and knocked about with gangsters. He’s lacked guidance as a kid and Man U found it hard to drill into him how to live his life right. That’s why he went to West Ham, as they thought getting away from Manchester and his ‘mates’ would help him.
It didn’t, although I’m not entirely surprised when you’ve got people like Carroll at West Ham.

The key thing is what’s going on in his head. Has he finally woken up and realised he’s got one last chance to be a top player earning big money? I had big doubts over Adams when he left. I actually predicted that as soon as things got hard at Brum, he’d sulk, put on weight and end up in the lower divisions. Instead, he’s flourished. Granted, he’s younger than Morrison but it can take some people longer to wise up to the realities of life. Sometimes you need a proper kick up the arse from life for you to see what’s going on.

If he ‘passes’ the trial and we sign him, then I’ll accept Wilder’s judgement. If we bomb him out, I’ll understand why.

I'm very excited if these all come off. Wages won't be mental and even if we get only 20 points these types will either move on for big money or rip the championship a new one

I can see this being a great signing, if Morrsion tries to beat everybody with his skill he will continue to fail, hopefully he will learn to do his bit and lay the ball off. The video posted in this thread highlighted how I thought he would attempt to play.

The simple fact is that we wouldn’t have a chance of getting someone with Morrison’s undoubted talent if they hadn’t had issues. We are in a position where, as well as sensible long term signings that give us a chance of staying up but will also make us a strong bounce back side if we do go down, we should look for an overlooked left field signing like this who could just be the difference maker. As others have said if we set the contract right, and I have faith we will, we could either have a gem or a piece of coal and in either case we don’t lose out.

You’d think Maupay and McBurnie would have been brought up for his reaction given the media links.

Almost as though they’ve held back his in-depth comments on these till after some expected signings...

Reading this thread, Morrison is unlike any of the players mentioned. Many of these "late bloomers", were trundling around the lower leagues etc. before they fired.

This guy was the next big thing at Man Utd and has escaped abroad in his early twenties, no doubt to get away from some problem influences.

Would be extraordinary if CWAK can turn him into a premier league player, but would be fantastic to watch if they can.
