Let’s hope our club together with the South Yorkshire Police, sort out the ridiculous segregation arrangements next season. With a number of anticipated full houses, it would be absolutely crazy to have thousands of unused seats left empty and people unable to get tickets for key games because of the heavy-handed attitude of the SYP insisting on vast areas of ‘no mans land ‘
This is obviously costly for the club and frustrating for the casual and occasional supporter who wants to attend .

Don’t offer up your reasonable advice again please. Common sense isn’t welcome when it comes to South Yorkshire Policing
 
I thought that the general consensus was that BL Lower would be the only away fan allocation as almost at the required minimum size and therefore no segregation required?

I thought that somebody within the club had supposedly mentioned that we have to find room for around 100 away fans in the BLUT. Madness if true.

Based on the last time we were up there and the number of season tickets sold, I think it’s fair to expect that the home seats will sell out every game, so it’s not going to be just a number of anticipated full houses, it’ll be every singe game.

Thats bollocks
You dont have to give bang on 3k there are exeptions to do with the ground lay out and how many you can
segregate without compromising the rest of the ground. Bournemouth give 1500 and there are a couple of other allocations short of 3k
 
Or have the away fans in the upper tier and our fans right behind the goal, like at Leeds
 
The seats left empty and the netting from the BL lower will be moved to the bottom of the Tony Currie and John Street to carry on the tradition of ridiculousness when it comes to segregation at Bramall Lane,meanwhile in the rest of the Premier League,2 rows of stewards suffice

I think clubs are supposed to provide 3000 seats for away fans but that this number can be negotiated down by a small amount with good justification.

If we would need to lose x £s in gate revenue by removing perfectly good seats for home supporters, simply to create a buffer zone, then surely common sense should prevail?

Then again.....
 
What I find strange is why will we be allowed to sell out the entire away section this season and not while we were in the championship? If it's down to the police, which I'm not certain it is, are the teams such as Liverpool, Man United, Chelsea etc better behaved than Leeds, Millwall etc. Or are we less likely to attack them because we are in the premier league? What difference does it make.
 
I've argued for years that theres no logic to either policing arrangements or crowd segregation at BDTBL.

Kick off times moved for safety reasons suddenly don't matter when TV comes knocking.

Less segregation is fine for Man Utd and Chelsea, but not Derby.

I also used the Bournemouth scenario back then and others have since used better examples like ManU, so with all that said it’d probably be good if somebody at the club could clarify the situation and confirm that it is indeed bollocks.

Not allowed Premier league rules stipulate away fans should be housed next to the pitch. This is to stop away fans being put up in the gods. Mind you didn't stop the bar codes getting an exemption based on safety grounds.

It is bollocks trust me
The rules on away allocations havent changed since we were last in the Prem, 2900 was good enough then it still is today. I dont know why people take notice of such nonsense

That (what John snow suggests) seems ridiculous but it also seems like something the football authorities would have us do.

I’ll have a word with Dave McCarthy when I’m working at the lane in the week
 
I think a lot of blades are going to be disappointed next season with allocations. Even the likes of manure, citeh, spurs and wet sham only give about 3k.

I think the same few high loyalty point holders will get to all the Premier stadiums and most won’t get a look in.

Getting on the home end won't be as easy at some away grounds too. Although even when a game is officially sold out there are always plenty of tickets on the resale sites.

The away allocation when we was last in the PL was 2,990. Any programmes from the 2007 season will confirm it on the results page.

My only concern regards allocation are whether there’s now a time limited when stadiums need to be evacuated by. So it’s now not just the number of seats but also the size of concourse areas and gangways that becomes an issue.

I’ve noticed that in the BLUT the stewards have blocked off many of the exits and force most people to exit via the metal staircase under the tv in the corner.
 
The problem is Bramall Lane AFTER the game. There's no real problem during a game.

South Stand is really quite unique in that half the stand empties on to Bramall Lane and not Cherry Street which is where it should be.

So 4K fans entering on to Bramall Lane from SS as well as home/away fans from BLUT & BLLT.

The problem could be resolved by keeping away fans in for 15 minutes if the authorities had the bottle to do it.

We may well see the big metal barrier that we've seen a few times in the past outside the SS entrance on Bramall Lane to segregate fans - and all because a few nutters can't control themselves. Football fans have only themselves to blame really for the situation.

The little Hitler safety officer. The sort of bloke who has threatened to ban people from the lane until they go and “have a chat” about setting smoke bombs off at the parade. All the over the top segregation, heavy handed stewarding, ridiculous sanctions and bans are all down to him. Only thing commendable about him is that he hasn’t instructed stewards to enforce the sitting down bollocks rules yet.

Don’t know if it’s true but I heard that the Police can request that away fans stay behind 15 minutes but they can’t legally enforce it.

Don’t remember coppers asking our “permission “ at the rust bucket last couple of seasons or Port Vale previously!!!
