Nothing against Brentford but they are the definition of a "selling club". They're moving ground at the end of this year as well so I expect them to look to offload; probably more than usual. For this reason I doubt Maupay would cost 20m unless a bidding war begins. I'd say 12 - 15m someone will snap him up for. Wouldn't be disappointed if that someone is us. Though in all honesty I'd like to see us go for Benrahma from Brentford instead.

Other players I like are Lolley, Mooy, Freeman, McBurnie and a name I haven't seen mentioned on here, my wildcard I suppose, Famara Diedhiou. I was impressed with him against us in that Bristol draw. Wiedman got the headlines for his hat trick but a lot of work came through Diedhiou; he caused us all sorts of issues. He's tall, strong and an aerial goal threat, that's something we don't have unless CB's are up for a corner. Hard to pin a price on him but 13 goals in a mid table Bristol side he'd be a cheapish gamble.

He cost them about 8 million i think ,but he certainly looks a deent plauer on his day
Worries me how he spends long spells out the team.though

Just had a look at the transfer, it's 5.3m. That's Bristols record transfer and he's got 2 years left on his contract. That probably makes him closer to 8 to 10m which makes it more of a risk move. Strikers cost are always inflated though and he has good attributes. Only 26. It'd be a 2nd or 3rd option at least for me in this window (for strikers anyways)

I like Diedhiou a lot. Big, strong, quick and skilful. Some proper Brian Deane qualities.

Josh Brownhill is another player of theirs that I like.

I also like that you managed to gloss over the fact we lost to Bristol and turned it into a draw.

and I believe they spent 5/6m on Diedhou, so he'd be 10m+ aswell.

As someone that lives on the outskirts of Bristol I can tell you that some of their supporters aren’t as enthusiastic about Diedhou as you. Don’t think he’s a PL player. A decent Championship one at best.

Brownhill is very good though.

Fair enough. Can only go on the few times I've seen him plus highlights etc but he looks like he has it all when I've seen him. Bristol seem very good at finding this type of striker (Kodjia, Abraham, Diedhiou).

Just the type of player I think we will go for, I just hope cw doesn't make same mistake has warnock when he gets to prem, that is getting players in who he knows he ball and shout at, quality players don't respond to that they only respond to quality coaching.

You'd think he'd be fairly clise to the top of CW's shopping list - young, would relish the move, probable to improve further, able to play several positions, would bring traits currently lacking in the squad, moving into final year of contract etc etc.

Id be delighted if we signed this lad. Very good championship player with a real chance of making it in the premier league.

We have to be savvy with our money and he would be a canny signing, probably at decent price.

I just worry that Bournemouth have already tapped him up, because I'd have expected much more speculation about him by this point.

I work with a PNE fan. He tells me that they are quoting teams £15M for Robinson, but reckons that is only to teams in the championship and that they would sell for a little less (around the £12M mark) to a team in the premiership.

I know he was having a good run before his injury but a quick glance at his record shows that he's now hugely prolific even in the Championship.

In that case it will drag on all summer and they'll eventually have to accept less if he doesn't sign a new contract.

Although you can never rule out someone jumping in and paying it. Bournemouth don't mind paying a few million over the odds, unless they're buying from us.

To be honest I think it’ll be that they are quoting the larger fee for teams in the same division.

Like you said before though it wouldn’t surprised me if Bournemouth had already sorted it. £12M was again the fee in question so I’d imagine we’d have to pay that to sign him.

They might quote £12m but I think they'd accept something rising to £10m, less if it gets late enough in the window.

It wouldn't surprise me if Villa go for him now. He's a Villa fan and started his career there.

We asked about his availability last summer and were quoted £12m, which was miles away from Wilder’s valuation.

Bournemouth will have £80 million to buy him if the rumours about manure are true

Now that better not be fucking Villa.

But I bet it is. He's a Villa fan too.

Little old miracle Bournemouth will pay that.
Little old miracle Bournemouth who have a higher net spend in the past 5 years than Liverpool.

Little old miracle Bournemouth that we're apparently looking to emulate.
