Thing is Peps Man City have had their success by spending north of £750 million.

Chrissy Wilders Blades has been cobbled together from change down back of an old settee.

Comparatively.

Agreed. A billion pound squad should win the league. There’s nothing exceptional about Man City apart from how much money they have (been allowed to) spent.

It's obviously obscene amounts of money, but why are people levelling it at Man City? All clubs do it, the problem for them is Man City buy players that are worth the money.

They've gradually shaped the team, yes for a large amount of money, but they don't always wave their chequebook. Foden from the youth set up, Zinchenko cost £1.7m or something, Kompany and Aguero have long since paid off their transfer fees, same for Silva.

They've also shipped £130m worth of players out in the last 2 years so it's not all out of the owners pockets.

Find it a bit amusing all the salty Liverpool fans saying they've bought the league when they spent £140m on two players.

Don't hate the player, hate the game, it's the same in F1, everyone complains about big teams spending too much money but then baulk at strict budget caps.

I don't know the whole story with their possible expulsion from Europe for FFP reasons to be fair but from a neutral it just seems like a lot of sour grapes from teams that have pissed similar amounts away, just on 2 or 3 squads that just didn't work.

Yeah, they spend a lot of money, but they do so with a clear philosophy and idea in mind, rather than just throwing money at it the way Man Utd and other clubs do.

I don't mind so much the man city way, it's the Chelseas of this world, having 30+ players on their books who will never play for them, that bothers me more really.

Anyone should be able to win something with as much mo ey as they want.
Poch is the best manager in the prem by a Country mile.
Pep is a joke comparatively.

Think City have had nearly 40 out on loan for the whole or part of this season, be interesting to see how many of them play in the next couple of seasons

Liverpool sold Suarez and Coutinho for a combined 220m.

That's like Wednesday saying they have a better squad than ours because it cost more though surely.

Players cost a lot of money now, that's not the managers fault, but the skill is in identifying and fitting players in to a style of play.

Poch is a great manager but Pep is not a joke in comparison. I don't think Man City would be anywhere near the level they are without him, at all.

Liverpool are still about minus £150m in transfer fees though, since Klopp came in. They've spent plenty of money.

While Pep has been at City they haven't really spent much more than Man United, (both minus £300m easily) and look where they are.

Poch is good, Pep is a great manager!

Can't wait to see Wilder talked about in the same sentence as these two. I honestly think he can be the new Ferguson!!

UTB!

A bit of success in Europe like Aberdeen before being whisked off to Old Trafford for twenty years of greater success?

Money doesn't guarantee success.

And Man City's squad isn't worth anywhere near £1b.

Man City were the best team over 38 games. All this talk of money detracts from the achievement of the players and the manager.

198 points in two seasons is a fantastic accomplishment.

Almost as good as 199 points in 2 seasons ;)

Been saying that about Wilder for 2 years now...he is our Ferguson, give him the cash and support and I believe he’ll take us all the way!

Pep is a joke?

Really?

8 titles in 10 seasons in 3 different countries tells me otherwise
