What about Carruthers, Ched, Lafferty, Holmes, Bryan, Thomas, Clarke, Lavery, Henegan etc. I thought these would be the first to be announced. Also any news on the loanees?

All fine by me. Cranie did well, but we do need better. Coutts is a terribly sad one and Jake Wright was a great servant in League 1.

Ched will command a fee.

Thought Cranie should have been kept on but can’t argue with the others..

Ched needs to keep any signing secret until the ink dries on the contract otherwise fan uproar will scupper any transfer as we saw at Sunderland.

Are you still restricted to 25 man squads in the PL?

Chris isn't exactly throwing kids in, so he's going to need every one of those to count.

I like Crainie, but if Chris has to give consideration to improving upon the likes of Basham and Baldock with his next recruits, then having Carinie in there will not acheive that objective.

Otherwise, no issue keeping him.

Likewise he probably wants someone to match Norwood to kick us on. Crossing fingers Coutts makes a remarkable recovery and a step up in level after a bad injury and such little football seems unlike Chris to be honest. He has money, he doesn't need to take that risk.

You asked who I wanted out, not who I wanted to transfer list.

Fair enough, obviously you're right, strictly speaking.

Just, you claimed you wanted more transfer listed, and I asked who else you wanted out - I thought you'd understand what I meant.

Madine said last night that all loanees were meeting King Chris this morning to discuss whether they are surplus to requirements or will be considered for next season.

I then think he'll talk to the out of contract players then the peripheral players who may command a fee or have years left on their contract.

He's never fannied about moving on players who take a wage and he shouldn't. He also does business as early as possible.

The squad could be sewn up by June!!!

It's not 'bullshit', it's just the OP misreading the Sky Sports article in error I think.

Either way, it's probably not far off...

Yes a guess which anyone can make writing it on a forum don't make it fact.

I was hoping it'd be a rehash of the Ched Released From Prison threads we all came to love.

#SadFace

We need another central defender comparable with John Egan,we can't be left short to 'make do' in the Premiership due to the inevitable injuries and suspensions.I think someone like Birminghams Michael Morrison would be ideal,i like Stearman and Cranie but they were bought for the Championship.

Cranie has been good back up in this league, but we need better going up to the Premier League. Ideally someone younger to compete with, and displace Basham.

Easy, pay up their contract.

Some of those still in contract will be on cracking wages now. Several players pay doubles with each promotion, meaning someone who was on £2,500 per week in L1 will be on £10,000 per week now we are a PL club. Hard to shift these players on, without giving them the £500k + (in quite a few cases) they are due to earn.

To note some wages would halve should we be relegated. Not all players are on this, but a good few are

I think we should release the entire squad , the resign them , then release them all again and sign them again on deadline day.

We should also sign everyone who is suggested in the rumour section so long as the thread reaches 20 pages minimum and then release them too before the season starts.

It is the way forward , fuck overlapping centre backs.

What we really need are overlapping player contracts that are both permanent and loans but also at the same time neither.

That should confuse everyone in the Premier League as to how we play , who will play and in what position.

Although it isn't official I expect all to be let go. If we stayed in the championship we would have kept Cranie and Coutts. Harsh decisions have to be made and this is the start

It's semantics but generally 'out' refers to players who were here last (this) season and not here next season.

Indeed. Over 21's I believe
So, contracted, we have:
Moore, Eastwood, O'Connell, Egan, Stevens, Stearman, Baldock, Freeman, Basham, Heneghan, Bryan, Fleck, Norwood, Lundstram, Duffy, Carruthers, Holmes, Thomas, Sharp, McGoldrick, Clarke, Evans.

So 22 over 21 in total.

We can therefore add 3 to the above before we need to start excluding players.

The one's in bold you can discount immediately. I fancy the ones in italics to also go.
Takes us down to 13 as a core to build from which seems sensible.
