Released List

Released list hasn’t been announced yet. This is just players who’s contract run out.

Carruthers will be hard to shift now. On big money after the promotion, allegedly.

Not so sure about this. He'd have already had a promotion bonus and increase from his Div1 days. I doubt there'd have been a premiership promotion increase, unless his contract purely stated a generic bonus/increase.

Either way, how long was his deal, I presume 4 years.

Carruthers signed for 3.5 years in January 2017 so he's a United player until June 2020. We'll subsidise the final year to get him off the wage bill because there's no chance he'll play for us again.

From Champagneblade's list, we used a small squad at Championship level and don't have many players who even might be good enough to stay up next season. It's going to be a busy summer.

GK
Stay - Moore
Loan - Eastwood

Defenders
Stay - O'Connell Egan, Stevens, Baldock, Basham
Loan - Bryan
Sell - Stearman, Freeman, Heneghan

Midfielders
Stay - Fleck, Norwood, Lundstram, Duffy
Pay off* - Carruthers, Holmes, Thomas

Forwards
Stay - Sharp, McGoldrick
Sell - Clarke, Evans

*effectively. No side at their level has any money so we'll probably end up either paying most of their wages or reaching a settlement and giving them a free transfer

The one's in bold you can discount immediately. I fancy the ones in italics to also go.
Takes us down to 13 as a core to build from which seems sensible.
Ok so everyone ended up in italics because that's what quotes do. Clearly we won't be getting rid of everyone in the squad :)
We'll have another go.

Moore, Eastwood, O'Connell, Egan, Stevens, Stearman, Baldock, Freeman, Basham, Heneghan, Bryan, Fleck, Norwood, Lundstram, Duffy, Carruthers, Holmes, Thomas, Sharp, McGoldrick, Clarke, Evans.

Not sure what is in his contract. I was just told the amount he'll be on and he must have doubled his wages.

It could all be rubbish of course, but there's no reason for it to be.

I think Coutts will get offered a new deal. It just depends whether he wants to go and play first team football.

Cranie has been a great signing to help us over the line. But I think we can do better.

We can, however it might cost us 5-10m. Question is, what's the priority, RCB/RB or Keeper/Strikers?

I think Coutts will get preseason, see if he can come back strongly again like his last serious injury, he's never quite looked right this season, needs to start at the beginning.

If it doesn't look like he'll be ready we might loan him or sell him last minute or in January. I'd be extremely surprised to see him released though.

Appreciate it’s not the released list, but a world where we released Coutts and kept Lundstram would be a very strange world indeed.

Fair enough if Coutts wants to leave. Hasn’t got many years left and probably won’t want to sit on the bench, but he’s our best player on the ball when fit. He should stay until January and see how he’s getting on.

So you have started a thread called realised. But it's not! Don't think I will be paying much attention to your posts in the future.

Unless Stearmans liver has gone I would keep him as back up for next season.

Ched Evans
John Lundstram
Ben Heneghen
Caloan Lavery
Leon Clarke
Kean Bryan
Daniel Lafferty
Jake Eastwood
Kieron Freeman
Samir Carruthers
Nathan Thomas
Ricky Holmes

I'd transfer list all of the above. Loan youngsters out like Tyler Smith, It would significantly reduce numbers and we'd get a decent fee for a couple of those above.

With respect to Cranie, we’re not sure yet if players like Norwood will make the step up, let alone a bloke on the subs bench in the Champo before we say “well let’s give him a contract anyway”

Unfortunately for Cranie, there’s an obscure PFA rule stating if more than 50% of a player’s club’s fanbase regularly misspell the player’s name for a full season you aren’t allowed to keep them. Extremely harsh on Cranie, but I don’t make these rules up.

I think we should release the entire squad , the resign them , then release them all again and sign them again on deadline day.

We should also sign everyone who is suggested in the rumour section so long as the thread reaches 20 pages minimum and then release them too before the season starts.

It is the way forward , fuck overlapping centre backs.

What we really need are overlapping player contracts that are both permanent and loans but also at the same time neither.

That should confuse everyone in the Premier League as to how we play , who will play and in what position.

Clever......taking organised chaos to a whole new level.

Might explain why Cranie seemed to be off his head so early on yesterday. I said at the time that it was a bit strange if he was hoping to get a new contract sorted this week. Really hope he gets something sorted, I’m sure he will

Exactly. Confuse everyone , teams, managers, pundits and fans.

The dutch brought us total football and United will bring total chaos.

It`s all down to Knill. The knock on his head after that fight with the squirrel unlocked parts of the brain not used by us mere mortals.

hi does anyone know where i can get a "are season ticket holders counted in the attendance even if they don't turn up" ringtone for a nokia 3310 cheers utb
