You seem to be refering to the tackle in the FA cup against Middlesborough?
I'm refering to his clearance this season off the line for stoke i cannot remember who against.
I never said we should rely on our striker catching up with players through on goal but if they were in a position closest to the player through on goal would you expect him to try?
Question: little Jamie Ward does not come and defend in our box at set pieces but how many times have you seen him work from front to back and then back to front?
Yes, thought you meant the Middlesbrough tackle. Of course anyone in a position to clear should clear. Yes I have seen Ward work hard.
Not everybody are complete players though, and it's the task of the manager to get the balance just right, to compose a team of players with complementary skills who as a unit works well defensively and offensively. I think Highbury's suggested team is a good one, though it probably requires a strong/tall back four.
