Will away fans have the whole BL end next season? There's no availability for season tickets on the BLUT and my twelve year old loves it up there

No.If they aren't getting it during the last few seasons, they won't be getting it if crowds increase, which they will if we're promoted.

No. We have to give 3,000 by PL rules, the lower tier holds 2,991 but the PL allow this under special circumstances for the sake of 9 seats. All the segregation will magically disappear as well

Capacity shoots up to 32,600, every single piece of netting removed. Front rows of the BLUT now in use.

Away fans get all 2,991 seats in the bottom tier. The front 2 rows in that bottom tier have been netted over in the Championship but as stated all netting now removed.

Basically the Safety Committee will be out of a job regards setting away allocations and stadium capacity.

Judging by your other post I guess you're judging whether to buy a season tickets on the remaining last couple of rows on the Westfield corner? (the ones immediately next to the upper tier). I had a similar dilemma. I'll be with 3/4 kids most games, the youngest being 6.

We went with the Kop: the thinking being: if they do sell the top tier to away fans it's maybe not wise to be sat right next to (i.e.) pissed up West Ham fans on a Friday night with a loads of kid in tow. If they don't sell the top tier to away fans it will either later on go on sale for season tickets (in which case we'll move), or like this season, they'll just sell match tickets up there, in which case we can move on a match by match basis anyway.

Season tickets weren’t available the last time we were in the Premier league in 2007 either.

I assume it’s the clubs way of setting a season ticket cap.
They appreciate that some fans can only attend a few matches per season for whatever reason.

Next season we could have 24K season ticket holders, so it going to be difficult for some fans (casual fans or fans that live far away or have work commitments) to acquire tickets.

So the BLUT is kept as a “general sale” stand ensuring that non season ticket holders get the chance to see us play.

It’s bizarre that when these 2 are involved then saftety is no longer as important.

I asked as I was hoping to purchase in BLUT 2.

If that’s true then our capacity reduces from 32,600 to 31,700 (that’s what we got at home to Liverpool first match when we gave Liverpool 4,500 tickets and had to have a small no man’s land for segregation.

Find it hard to believe that in a stadium with 32,600 seats we would deliberately set up an arrangement where we can only use 31,700 of those seats. I reckon there’s a misunderstanding, reckon the BLUT is “potentially reserved for away fans”.

In 2007 the arrangement was no season tickets allowed in the top tier just in case they needed to be used by away teams that bring a big following. This is what we did when we played Liverpool first match, 1000’s of Blades couldn’t get tickets, so we learnt our lesson and only gave away teams the bottom tier for remaining matches that season.

The last time we were in the Prem. We gave Liverpool the lower tier and about a third of BLUT but we soon made a U turn and only gave the lower tier to the away fans after that.

I can't remember what game it was, but they gave home fans the lower tier a couple of seasons ago for a game (can't remember where the aways fan were, upper tier maybe?).

We moved over because it was the only stand in the stadium I hadn't watched a game from. It was without doubt the worst view I've had in the stadium. The gradient is terrible, so even when you're further back you still feel pretty low/close to the pitch, with the added problem you have heads in the way.

Plus of course, segregation (leaving the stadium) would be an issue if they only had the upper. I imagine if they get the upper tier it will be in addition to the lower tier.

Don't get your hopes up that SAG will go away. Wouldn't put it past them to say we can't go above 2,100 in the lower tier meaning we have to give both the top and bottom of the BLUT to away fans causing thousands of Blades to lose out on a seat. Can't just give away fans the top tier because Premier League rules state away fans should be next to the pitch. Mind you it would cause SAG palpitations at the thought of away fans being on the same level as Blades in the Westfield Upper.

Spurs away allocation is 3,000, the minimum requirement and just under 5% of their new ground total capacity. We could be forced by SAG to give up approaching 13% of our capacity.

Its not the sensible approach, it would p*ss off our fans who would lose out, give an advantage to away teams that no other Club in the Division provides so you would think we couldn't possibly agree to this. Well don't hold your breath the way we have bent over and been shafted by SAG in terms of segregation, ticket restrictions, pub closure enforcements and kick off times in the Championship suggests more of the same.

If we go up the Club should make it clear straightaway what is going to happen.
