Having looked at the photo again, I agree that it is probably McAlleActually think it's John McAlle not Stewart Houston,he played a few games for us in the 1981/82 season.
Specsavers down the road and while your at it get a colour test.
His testimonial in March 1973Another one of Len Badger (probably had it before somewhere in the past 500+ pages)

Good photo, can see why Badger missed full cap, sat down and not paying attention. RSM Ramsey would have mentally noted that. Other players, is that Vic Mobley to our right of Ramsey, Martin Chivers far left tallest one and Gordon West far right looking at camera. Not a clue on others or ground there at.Len Badger (sitting on the ball looking at the camera) with the England u23s squad in mid 1960s

Agree with you. Think Alan Ball is number 8 and Bobby Tambling number 11Good photo, can see why Badger missed full cap, sat down and not paying attention. RSM Ramsey would have mentally noted that. A slightly wider lens and I would probably be in that photoAnother one of Len Badger (probably had it before somewhere in the past 500+ pages)

Charnock Dale Rd for me - many an evening playing footy on the RecLiterally round the corner from me.
Charnock Dale Rd for me - many an evening playing footy on the Rec
Born on Charnock but we moved before I had chance to dominate the Rec with my Pele-like silky skills*
* More towards the Chopper Harris end of the Pele spectrum, than the Rivelino end
and the kick-off was at 6.15 on a Wednesday. Anyone know why?
That appears to be a brilliant answer. My first thought was that perhaps John Harris wasn't such a great thinker after all, but now, of course, we have to put up with 12.30 and 5.30 kick-offs; in my view anything that gets between a Yorkshireman and his meal-times is a bad thing. So please don't mention 6.15 to Sky!In 1960, John Harris thought we would get bigger crowds if we kick off at 6pm or 6.15pm so that people coming home from work would go straight to the match rather than go home for tea and then switching the TV on and changing their mind about going to the match because they saw something they liked on TV. The experiment wasn't a success and I assume we went back to 7.30pm kick offs the following season or two.
The tram, bus and train geeks will be wetting themselves at the sight of this picture.
This is the link to his twitter pageThose videos are amazing. Would it be possible to put a link to them on our Park Hill Flats (Sheffield) Facebook site?
