Horrendous? I thought it was a yellow, you disagree, fair enough. But it certainly wan't beyond doubt.
I thought it was beyond doubt and the ref couldn’t get his card out any quicker, that’s enough evidence for me. :)

It was a red card, there can be no complaints.

It was a brainless thing to do, and there was absolutely no need to do it.

Things like that make him a liability and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s lost Wilder’s trust after that. He very nearly screwed up our automatic promotion challenge tonight, and I imagine the other players were livid with him.

It's one of those tackles that some refs give a red for and some a yellow. It looks a bad one to me and not surprised its a red. Feel for Madine though, he's not meant to get a red card (obviously) and he looked genuinely surprised when he received a red. He'll be missed but I doubt he would have started at Leeds and McGoldrick scoring tonight couldn't come at a better time.

Nor to me Andy, really harsh decision. Yellow, maybe....red, never in a million years.
Agreed mate. It was like it was in slo-mo.

If he’d done it at pace and scythed the bloke down maybe, but it was more of a cheeky (but daft) dig than a dangerous tackle. Wouldn’t even be a booking 20 years ago.

This is the moment he launches the tackle, you could say there's a ball to be won there, but he's too slow and the defender is quicker to get his foot on the ball, meaning Madine hits him:

Poor quality, but slow motion and zoomed up here:

At the time I didn’t think it was a red and having seen the replay above I still don’t think it is. He’s clearly attempted to win the ball and it’s not like it’s two footed.

And I’ll add that the tackle that Basham got booked for was worse. It reminded me of the one that Vaulks got sent off for against us on Saturday.

Eat OTT. ONE mistake doesn’t make him a liability FFS. It’s up to him to learn from it and for Wilder to make sure he does.

Let’s just keep it real and move on. We won and move onto Leeds and though the players will be regretting the fact that Madine’s not going to be part the squad, not dwelling on his one stupid brain fart of a tackle.

He clearly attempted and had as much chance in doing so as Vaulks did on Saturday.

Not sure we’d be saying that had the players not dug us out of a hole and managed to get a win against the odds.

He so nearly cost us big time with a stupid, petulant lunge. I don’t see other players making them challenges.

Hopefully it’s just a one off. But that was a stupid thing to do tonight.

Looked far worse than the tackle the Rotherham lad made on Saturday so a red all day long for me. On the touchline well in his own half no need at all to make such a ridiculous challenge. This is why I didn't want us to sign Madine once a dickhead always a dickhead, luckily we got away with it due to the heroics of the rest of the team. This is why he will not be wearing a Blades shirt after this season is done with, McGoldrick has shown he is twice the player despite not shooting when he had a great opening.
