A fantastic day Friday. We celebrated the arrival of our second son! Another Blade to add to the pride. My mrs wanted to keep the gender as a surprise. Old traditions I suppose. When he arrived One of the first things she said was, "you know what this means right?" I didn't quite get her meaning at first but then I remembered what she meant. Our first son was born on the promotion season around this time. After his birth we won every game. We have in fact done well ever since his birth. Let's hope the new addition increases our good fortune. We're going up!!! UTB.

Well let's bloody well hope so, and that your new young man keeps the trend going.

Many congratulations by the way, another puppy Blade arrives. You must be chuffed to your boots :)

I trust you're going to keep the thing securely locked away upstairs until you kidnap a bride for it in 20 years time.

Congratulations on the birth of your son. Having been there on two occasions (my sons, that is, not your sons!;)) I think it's one of the most important days of your life. I also have respect for your Mrs's traditional views that she didn't want to know the sex of the baby beforehand. I totally agree with this. In fact, when my wife was pregnant they wouldn't tell us the sex of the baby even if we'd wanted to know - it was the policy in Sheffield Jessop's at that time to not tell the parents what the sex was. (Because certain cultures only wanted males apparently and they considered it "a risk" to tell some folks, so they told no-one). Not that we wanted to know anyhow. It's the greatest surprise on earth surely? The only people that feel they need to know the sex of the baby beforehand are people with names like Barry, who are fond of DIY and want to get the nursery painted in the right colours first.

I hope your past record of spawning kids in promotion seasons holds true again - and I think it might! If we do get promoted and only survive one season in the Prem - can we rely on you to "knock her up" the season after again please?;)

It is the greatest surprise. I have a family full of females. Sisters cousins and neices. I was really close to my old man as a result who unfortunately died the season prior to our promotion / first child. He was a massive blade and would have been enormously proud. Our last game together was the cup game at home against Tottenham. When Che Adams banged 2 in on his debut. What a day.
The mrs is already seething at the situation as she was expecting a girl. So I can imagine there will be another addition. If the good luck continues I owe it to all blades to take one for the team.

Congratulations fella.

Got one due August 14th. We too, are not finding out the sex. We didn’t with our first one. The only surprise you’ll ever get.
Congratulations mate. It's the most exciting part about child birth. For women in particular. For men it's like watching your favourite pub burn to the ground.

Congratulations to you and Mrs BtB.
Welcome little Blade. Hope you have a blessed life full of love, joy and peace x

Congratulations on the birth of your son - so thatswhy you are up at crack of dawn on a Sunday ! Lets hope you are right about winning most of our remaining games !

Congratulations.

My son was born the day after we drew with Leeds just after we had promotion confirmed in 2006. I had everyone on all season that I was going to name him after who scored the goal that got us promoted (we knew he was a boy early on).

Ironically Danny was a name on our list irrespective, and would have been his name had his hair colour been different. Don't ask me why but we thought Danny went better with darker hair

My missus isn't currently expecting though, or at least I hope not at her age :)

It’s a good job it wasn’t an O.G. then!

My Dad's mate had a phrase he trotted out to his son after every gut-wrenching Play-Off Final defeat. He'd say 'It's character building stuff, this!'

Not sure what you're kids are going to be like if they know nothing but success as Blades :D

You'll get another one when you go to investigate the strange noise early one morning and go downstairs to find that your 3 year old has worked out how to turn the tv on and is watching one of the kids channel on Sky :(

Thanks all for the supportive messages. After today I'm pretty confident we can kick on. Had a feeling Rotherham would have gotten a point today to help us. Pressures all on Leeds now.
