What the matter will be is that on Saturday I reckon we will have less fans than season ticket holders. Maybe McCabe might listen then

Results and performances have been terrible lately and I'm getting pretty despondent. But after the job he's done over the last two seasons I think it would be massively unfair to sack him based on the last 5 games, games in which we've had half the team out injured. If the run continues after we've got all our players back then we should re-assess then, but to do anything now would be stupid in my opinion.
 
Maybe I was a bit harsh on Wembley weekend when I said that IF we go up we should sack Blackwell if we really want the club to go forward.

However I stand by it and still want him out, today even more than ever, but it almost feels better for me today as at last nearly everyone else can see it too.

Never stop me going, never get me booing the team, but Blackwell has got me as low as I've ever felt about going to the lane to watch the football.

The only way I'd give him any credit as a 'manager' would be if he stuck his hands up and said 'I'm done, I'm walking'....if only.

If people still come on here a defend the useless tw@t's blackwell and ellis and the palyers that are turfing this crap out then they really must be wearing blinkers, we are sh@t play sh@t football and something needs doing about it NOW!!! Blackwell took leeds to a play-off final, season after relegation.. I'm not saying were gonna get relegated but we'll have a very poor season if it's not changed, and let's not say we've got lots of injuries cos we should still be able to turn a good team out!!! At least liverpool are going out of champers league...

Bristol it will all be too late if we wait
The players don't want to play for him
The fans aren't behind him
He's put the squad together and look at the team out there tonight - it is good enough but he can't manage them
People in football will tell you - he's a number 2 - and an average one at that
They can't believe he has had the jobs he's had, and now is managing us
We will never ever go forward under the current regime with that clown as manager
He is not good enough and can not manage people, simple as
 
Its not just the last 5 games ,its the last year ,the football is dire and now so are the results. He is undoing all the good work done by Warnock and we are dropping down to the level of performance before the Warnock era. The foundations are slowly drifting ,just look at the reserves and he is running out of ideas. Action needs to be taken ,unfortunately McCabe is away for a while as Blackwell has conveniently mentioned so he is safe in the short term.
 

Only being able to get to Saturday home games at the moment, I've not been unfortunate enough to see the last few games. Sorry to say though, I'm really not looking forward to Saturday. Don't think it's going to be pretty - unless we somehow turn it around from the last few games I can see the mood going right back to the late days of Robson. :(

Absolutely spot on ,his man management is awful. The players are good enough if they play as a team ,he cannot manage a team.

Bear in mind we sacked Robson in February when we were hovering just above the relegation zone and very nearly made it into the playoffs. I think we can afford to wait another month to get our full strength team back and see how we go then. I'm not saying that it will necessarily get better but I think he's earnt the chance to improve us. If we're still struggling at Christmas then I agree we might need to look at getting a replacement.
 
I'm very rarely in favour of changing the manager - Robson was one of the very few up till now I really wanted rid of. But the way things are going, I think sooner rather than later would be best. I think Blackwell had it right when straight after the playoff final he thought he'd taken us as far as he could.

Respect the idea mate but as I said I'd have sacked him after the play off final even if we'd have gone up - the man is so lucky to have a job in the championship when, at best, he's an average stop gap / number 2 manager in the lower leagues. If you don't have respect people won't play for you - or sign for you IF they can get elsewhere. At least Robson could spot / pull them - he just couldn't manage them either...
 
The moment he said the resignation bit after the play-offs he showed a weakness to all the players - would you have confidence in your boss if he doesn't have confidence in himself?

Totally agree. I am still totally bemused by how we managed to finish third last season. For most of the time the football was dreadful, particularly around the time of the home defeats to Doncaster and Wednesday.

If this carries on much longer our battle will not be for promotion, it will be against relegation.

17 goals conceded in 7 games would be poor if we were playing against the division's better sides. But most of them have been conceded against below midtable sides.

I listened to the game on 5 live extra and the commentators had nothing positive to say about us at all. One of them rounded off by saying that if he was a Sheffield United supporter he would be concerned.

Fair enough then. I understand why people are getting frustated and I'll admit I'm less than happy at the moment, but I'd still give him a bit longer. I can see why people want him out now though.

I think you'll find that some did and some didn't. I lost patience after the dismal home displays against Doncaster and Wednesday.

I don't think many people in their heart of hearts felt he was a good long term choice, but when you finish third and get to a playoff final it's a bit unreasonable to sack the manager.
 
I'd have defended Blackwell last year as regardless of the style of play not being that good most of the times, we got the results that almost took us up. But he showed his lack of belief in himself after the PO final, and the last few games we're in freefall. Things change, so so can opinions.

Good to see someone talking a bit of sense on here instead of the clueless 'pub football fan' chat I seem to see on here a lot.

To get rid of Blackwell after 5 poor results would be total disrespect to a man who transformed us from hovering above the relegation zone to near enough a play off place and then was one game away from making us a Premier League team last season. The man has done nothing wrong in my eyes.

The players we have out is a huge loss. It must be bloody hard as a manager to get a team of players who haven't played much football together, playing well and gaining results no matter how good your back up players are.

I think Monty being out proves what a massive player he is for us. Think we haven't won since he's been injured which says alot.

When we get our full first team squad back then we should start to see results going in our favor. UTB!
