You can't presume anything in the cup, see Everton and West Ham. Also we've only just lost at Swansea. The league is the right priority this year.

I know I don’t speak for a lot of people nowadays but I’d personally love to win the FA Cup one day.

On a side note, I’d also rather win the FA Cup than get in the Prem. It’s a tad depressing that some fans would rather get in the Prem than win something of note.

A lot of the big teams are already out this season, great chance for a small club to reach the semi finals this season.

However the reality is that getting in the PL lays stronger foundations for the future well being of the club than winning a cup.

We are catapulted into a totally new financial league if we reach the PL.

If it was a choice of winning the fa cup or promotion to the premier league, then I would choose the fa cup. However, realistically we have little chance of winning the fa cup. We do have a good chance of promotion, so it's a no brainer.

Fair enough, although another reason even though it’s rather irrelevant is that after the last few years we’ve had taunting those fuckers over the road with our upturn in form and their downturn, could you imagine us winning the FA Cup on top of it all? I think they’d all look for the rope.

We’ve still missed a great opportunity this season with the side we have.

Scored 40 in 170 appearances - product of the Tottenham Youth Academy. Been around Div 1 and 2 a real lot. I think there must be a flaw there because hardly anyone has wanted to keep him. Looked a talented player at Bramall Lane - something wrong somewhere I suspect.

Totally agree...it should be about winning silverware not making loads of money so we can pay it all out to players and agents . We will never win the Premiership in my.lifetime but we could win an FA Cup...well if we take it seriously.

Ask Pompey and Wigan fans if they'd swap seeing their captain lift the cup for.more seasons in the premiership !!!!!

I posted on the rumour thread but I understand that the lad left Peterborough for Barnet so that he could be near his mum as she was dying of cancer. Very sad story and may offer some insight as to how he is where he is.

Get to the Premier League, 40 odd points (safety) before third round day in January, give the cup a proper go.
In all seriousness I would absolutely love to see us win the cup more than anything else. It's lost its shine a bit over the years since I was a nipper but imagine being stood at Wembley and seeing our skipper (be nice for Billy) lift that trophy....... can you actually dehydrate through endless crying ?
"Remember that day when we won the cup" would bring back more happy memories than "remember that day we finished tenth"

never nice losing in the cup , especially to non league but it happens if you make too many changes

I'd probably prefer we aim to be an established mid table Prem team that tries to win the FA Cup each season, unlike the likes of Leicester, Wolves, Bournemouth etc who still prioritise the league despite the fact they are in no danger of either getting relegated or challenging for a European slot.

Got us to buck our ideas up in many ways and get some rest.

However I can't help wonder if we'd have had a decent chance of making the final if we played our first team, and would have been interesting to see how we'd have done against a PL side... but we move on in a healthy position, no looking back (he says after bumping the thread up)
