Why do we ‘need’ that? Is rejecting the bid not enough for you?

Some of the reaction on here to something that might never actually happen is fucking pathetic.

you joking! with our history there's to show concern

Just seen on Facebook that apparently wet sham have made a 4 million pound bid for fleck?/.
Surely we can’t sell him for 2 reasons?.
(1) the bid is too small and we should be looking at nearer 10 million!.
(2) it would be complete and utter nonsense to sell him given our current situation?.

£10m for Fleck?? Who exactly do you think will pay that for him?

deary me
im optimistic , but I think 4m is amazing for someone Coventry gave away 309 months ago
12m ,,,,, on fifa maybe

Well I think it's a fucking disgrace. Your better than the FIFA jibe mate. You know as well as I do that prices are through the roof, whether they are worth it or not is another discussion (my contribution to that discussion is of course they aren't worth it).

The discussion should be starting at least twice that, at least. This is a player who is pretty pivotal to what we are trying to do, and we are giving him away (relatively speaking in the current market).

Wish the twats in charge down there sold Ferrari's cus I'd be down there with £3.5K to have one.

:(

Good to hear we’ve rejected a bid from them cunts for one of our prized assets.

£4M? They must’ve been on spice when they made that bid?

Pinchy would pay them to take him there though, thankfully Wilder never agrees with Pinchy. Noise and nonsense. :)

Fleck at 27 will see this as a chance of a lifetime, when salaries may rise 10x it's pretty hard for him not jump ship. 6-8 mill is still a bargain for them. Hope he stays, but this is what we fear when having modest wages and pretty good players. Late bloomer Fleck, one we can't replace with what we have.

Whilst Fleck is very important to Utd, I'm not 100% sure he's mid Prem quality, especially on this season's showing so far. Given how much West Ham are spending on players this year, a £4m signing from a Champ club really doesn't make sense.

I agree, Jack Wilshire is nearly back as well, I can't see fleck getting into there midfield

There’s no excuse for being that thick. Deserved it.

Yes, he had top quality all around him. Different ball game at United and now over 30. I'd take him on a free.

He ran the show all season for Fulham along with norwood.

Pretty sure they played a lot together for Fulham ? I’d take them two together in a heartbeat.

As much as we all love fleck I’d say McDonald is an upgrade slightly

Cairney was the main man there. Mcdonald and Norwood are similar so I don't think the balance would be right. We also have Coutts who is similar. We'd need a different type of player who can drive with the ball and tackle.Oh, and he needs to be left footed.

McDonald drives with the ball.
And fleck hasn’t done that enough this year compared to last , don’t think fleck has been half as good as last year

But rather than looking for a player who probably doesn't exist within our scouting range and budget, we might be better off simply signing the highest quality midfielder we can and accept adjusting around their style. And quality wise I think McDonald would be very near the top of the list.
