So you’re using today’s result and performance to have a go at general recruitment which hasn’t yet happened. Gotcha nowNorwood is a good signing. Didn't say he wasn't.
My opinion is that 'that's yer lot'.
"Oh look, we've signed Oliver Norwood!"
*JIZ-JIZ-JIZ*
He's been playing for us most of the season, on loan, with an option to buy. Given the odd event of him him playing shit (which he hasn't), his 'arrival' was nailed on. Plus the fact, where his former club was, he was third choice behind a lot of other players. I'm less interested in those headlines and more in the 'It'll be loanees in the JTW'.
Looking at today's performance, if any one of our nominal 1stXI is injured or suspended - or two or three - we might see a severe slip in output.

He can count me out of watching any team with Gary fuckin Madine in the 18. Fuck off Wilder you knobhead if you want a big lump up front go get Akinfenwah or someone without the baggage. To me wanting a thug up front is just admitting your style of football has failed or maybe this is your high water mark.
A fairly cowardly response from a manager.
A manager who picked the wrong team yet has accepted no blame.
A manager who has just written off his new loan signing and a player making his debut
A manager who has written off a player whose contract he has recently extended
A manager too cowardly to answer a direct question about his next signing
There needed to be a strong response, but to merely chuck the whole team under a bus is a bit pathetic.
Let no one here delude themselves Norwood is the big signing and any realist knows anything else we bring in will be on loan with a good chance of them being shitola much like last season and the one before that hence why we are in for Gary fuckin Madine. The barrel has been scraped that often the bottom is wafer thin. Next summer should be good when we have no Brooks or DCL to sell, summat tells me Wilder will be gone by then though.
Woodburn MkII
Agree with him that side should’ve comfortably won that game. No blame on Wilder for me.

The fact remains that we’ve rubber stamped the Norwood deal this week and why not celebrate it. He’s a hell of a signing for a side that just does budget cheapo loans
As for today’s XI, many or most of them have played their part already this season. So there is some depth to the squad. They were just shit today.
Do they allow eleven subs in the f.a cup ?I find making 11 changes for a 3rd round FA cup game disrespectful and a disgrace this on top of signing Gary fuckin Madine is about as low as this club can get, thanks Chris Wilder. I'm fairly confident the 1st 11 could have had that game won in 30 mins, then give your 2nd string the game time.
He picked that bunch of losers.

Why was it the wrong team? The players just played crap
Oh, it will. McCabe and HRH aren't much fucked. Wilder has crafted his first eleven into a wonderful position of great surprise and potential. That's good enough for him. 25+k each other week and shirts flying off shelves. Pretty soon we'll have forgotten about the Brooks money if we get a playoff shout (providing we can keep players off the treatment table or not suspended) and it'll be another 'nearly' season. And McCabe can get on with his business in extricating himself and the club from the wankiest business deal since Jesus bought two bits of 4 x 4 and some nails. And that's gonna cost, thanose. Every season we spend out of the big money means year-on-year losses so we are telled. Unless we sell the 1stXI and play the set of baboons out there today every week.

It can be interpreted in whatever way people choose to suit an argument, as pommpey has done. However, the reality is that he has played on loan since August/ September, done really well and the deal was always going through in Jan on a permanent deal. Theres nothing wrong with doing what the club has done and announce that it has been ratified. They've certainly not dressed it up as a new signing. The problem with that argument is that Norwood being touted as our JTW marquee signing means that he wasn't one of our summer signings, although he was as a loan-to-buy. Juggling signings around like this dilutes our already miserly approach in the transfer market and makes us look stupid as a so called ambitious club, especially considering our league position. As pointed out above we don't have a Brooks coming through so the 1st XI will be pawned off at some point and we will be left with the rest. Worrying times ahead if we don't go up.

YOU obviously haven't taken note of how Dowell is going to play in the team.
the ones who take notice actually know.
UTB
Bit early to write Dowell off don’t you think? First game for a while and not exactly surrounded by high performing colleagues today. Prefer to judge him later on myself
Dowell has been playing week in week out for Everton U23s.After one game when he hasn’t played much football recently? Get real.
He said he felt sorry for dowell and that he will be a really good player for us.Interesting that he's already writing Dowell off. Looked very average.
Not if the deal isn’t agreed yet.Today is the right time to talk about Madind. Sorry, but he bottled that one.
Get all your dirty washing out today and start again tomorrow
It's unreasonable to judge Dowell on today's performance in a team that was completely at odds with itself. It might have been different if we had started with the finishing eleven.
Until Basham came on Freeman looked lost and for what it's worth I thought Dowell was one of the better performers
