"After that performance I'm wondering if we need 11 additions in the JTW"

"That team was good enough to win that game of football but we turned up arrogant and got punished."

"Our supporters clapping the Barnet players I thought was class, but I thought the fans should've booed the lads louder as we were horrendous today."

"Great opportunity for them and we told the lads they'd be up for it, but on the coach back they'll probably be talking about how easy it was for them"

"Our identity is that of a team that usually has a go. After that performance they have to leave by the back door and that is very, very hard for me to take."

"We are third in the Division because none of those players today are normally in the first team."

"At the end of the season the players might have something on their CV, but that doesn't tell the whole story."

"I won't be forgetting it and I doubt any of the players who started today will be forcing their way into the main 11."

"Players get themselves into and out of sides. It's up to them how their careers go."

"I'll talk about why we're looking to bring Madine in when the time is right.""

Today is the right time to talk about Madind. Sorry, but he bottled that one.

Get all your dirty washing out today and start again tomorrow

Wow. Pretty much expected. But still a clear message that we are a very 'walnut fronted' football team. Underneath, it's fucking chipboard.

Like the cut of Wilder's jib there. They've had their chance. Sounds like for many of them, it won't be this side of them being released before we see them in the 1stXI side.

It's not often he chucks players under the bus like this and when he does it normally gets a reaction. The thing is though that we aren't likely to be seeing many of these players step out again any time soon [Coutts & Stearman maybe being the exceptions] so it will be difficult to gauge.

Be interesting to see if he does add to his shopping list now, although I can't see more loans coming in so we may be a bit stumped if this rollocking doesn't have the desired effect.

Interesting that he's already writing Dowell off. Looked very average.

How is it the right time? It sounds like he’s saying exactly what most of us are thinking.

You can talk all day about putting 2nd team out but that team is good enough to beat a non league team.

Today want the fault of tactics or team sheet today’s embarrassment is down to the players

There’s no way any of the players should get the monk on after that bollocking. They have just lost to fucking Barnet and some of them will think they deserve to be in the match day squad.

Excellent, honest assessment from the manager and no more than I'd expect from him

I know I shouldn't be saying this after one game, but whilst Dowell and Bryan have the pedigree and have had little first team football this season, I need convincing they are up for the battle..

Perhaps better players around then will allow them to express themselves better

He can add what he wants to the shopping list. The big brou-ha-ha earlier on about Norwood 'becoming a Blade' is enough to ell anyone that that itself if the JTW headline. We've done our 'big signing' this season with Egan. As ever, this month will be punctuated with speculation and rumour and fuck all action. I'd be very shocked if we brought in much real quality. Dowell is one I'd never even heard of before and apparently he's one of those long shot experts … wasn't Lundstram given the same flattering praise when we brought him in out of nowhere?

Rest assured, I don't think there will be any shitstopping acquisitions this Transfer Window. Wilder possibly has a list as long as his arm, but I think the message is clear - cheapo loaness.

Plus ca fucking change.

I clapped the Barnet players and their fans. I didn't boo our players.
There was a few boos from John St at full time, not surprised, we looked second rate. Having said that, I thought from the off it would be difficult with so many changes.

I disagree, the performance was predictable, few if any of that team today have played regular football this season, some may have an occasional run out in the U23's,but generally they are not playing any competative football.

The lack of experience should have been more than made up for with quality, I think your forgetting these players are backup for a top championship side and they just lost to a mid table conference side.

What’s your point? You’re not happy with the team? Norwood isn’t a cracking signing?

Wilder's basically said exactly what he should be saying.

I trust he's said the same to them in the dressing room, only..... firmer.
