Lundstram

Good in a tackle/block most of the time, but reminds me of Evans when passing the ball backwards and slowing the tempo down. Not what you need when someone running their tits off up front to try and get in behind the defence. Squad player and that’s about that.

Mid to upper League One player that may have the odd decent game in the Championship. I wonder if Oxford want him back?

I always said Ledson was the midfielder we should have signed from Oxford.

And Kean Bryan..... Jesus fucking Christ, I hope he has a good excuse.

As for Johnson..... well he just has no idea what the hell he's doing on the pitch does he.

Let's hope there's no loan to buy agreement involved!

Lundstram - yes, absolutely awful. I've defended him the last time... and I've done that a lot.
Stears - eh? He was excellent the majority of last season and hasn't had a look in this
Bryan - he's barely played for months.

Moore can coco too. Awful.

Distribution: bad
Stopping: dramatic but often unsuccessful
Penalties: I've seen him face six this season and today's was the only one he looked as though he was interested in
Claiming from corners: poor

I'd rather have Eastwood, there's room for him to develop and if he's got a couple of mistakes in him, fair enough he's only a chabbie.

My agreement with Stearman comes down to a value for money one.

Wright isn’t much worse than Stearman if at all. He’ll be on at maximum a quarter of his wages so they could be spent elsewhere.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. As much as I love Jake for what he did for us in the division below, I think Stears is immensely better. Though I do tend to agree that we're maybe spending too much on a clear second choice defender.

Lundstram has played hardly any competitive football this season and spent much of the game trying to cover for Bryan and Cranie as they consistently couldn't get back whilst apparently playing the more forward midfield players as Coutts sat in the defence?

I'm not the biggest fan of the lad but he's still young and was given an impossible task. That is the responsibility of the manager.

Not sure he's good enough at this level but there's no way to find out unless he is playing regularly. It;s unlikely to be here so loan him or sell him.

Lundstram is not, never has been, and never will be good enough. It has been one of my biggest bug bears when people have defended him. He has never put in a championship quality performance since we signed him.

Our record with and without him is absolutely astonishing reading, and it is no coincidence!

Add Stearman to the fuck off list, with Freeman on standby.

We should go in for Ben Marshall as a replacement for Freeman, it’s looking like he could be going back to Millwall. Not sure if Norwich would sell to a rival though.

It won’t be a popular opinion I know but I thought Lundstram was better than Coutts today at least if only because he looked like he wanted to put some effort in. Did Coutts even leave the centre circle?

Have to disagree. Moore, who at least got a hand to the penalty and Coutts are the only ones to emerge with any credit from that debacle.

Lundstram having to try to cover both right and left sides of defence in the first half was ridiculous, Cranie kept wandering off to the edge of the opposition box as though he was Basham, except he never actually looked like touching the ball, so JL had to drop back instead of being in midfield. On the other side, Johnson kept tucking in, doing the old Bryan Howard trick of hiding from potential passes from his teammates. With nobody in front of him, Bryan buggered off up the other end and was pushed right up on the left wing on a couple of occasions (even though the ball was on the opposite side of the pitch), so JL ended up at left back. How we only conceded one in that first half is a miracle, we were playing with a back 2 of Lundstram and Stearman for lots of it.

Second half the centre backs more or less stayed at centre back, so Lundstram could actually play in midfield where he was his usual, alright, but not particularly good. Sadly he was far from the worst player on the pitch today.

We now play our football at the top of the Championship.

We should remember (respectfully) WHEN we signed these players and why.

Wilders comments after the game summed everything up for me.

We need to make plans in this JTW to move a few out and some more in the summer.

We should also remember the players that we signed last JTW and how long they lasted - again, these players were wanted when we came out of the pub league.

We've moved on very very quickly - too quick for some players we presently have or who we brought with us or who were purchased.

No chance they’ll let him come here but it’s a good shout. I’d explore L1.

Coutts didn’t do any running, he barely moved at all. He’s still not tackling either, though that’s maybe understandable after such a bad injury.

One thing I will say after today, let’s get him fucked off sharpish while he has some resale value.

He’ll never make a championship midfielder while he’s got a hole in his arse.
He played well the other week for the first team, when called upon.

To be fair to Johnson he spent half the match mopping up after Bryan, who was a disaster. Saved a certain second in the second half too.

Apart from v’s Villa? So he does have a hole in his arse and he can compete in the Championship. Today really isn’t the day to be singling one player out when all eleven were pretty piss poor.

You knew it would be unpopular because its bollocks.

If you say so.

If you were happy with his performance today then maybe it says something about your level of expectation.
