35000 views , 35 pages , 700 odd replies , have we ever had a subject that's had such a reaction , I personally don't think it will happen , if he does come , and he plays crap , he will be slaughtered . This signing could completely cock up our season , and if it goes ahead I do think it will , there will be to much focus on it , people will be divided , don't do it United .

It is if some twat starts on you for no reason

Never been in that sitiation myself. But if i was I'd just follow Oasis' advice.

Just walk away, walk away.........

In honesty im 5ft 2 wight 9.5 stones so I'm not exactly built for fighting in the street.

I really wouldn't follow Oasis' advice if you want to avoid a fight.

That song is Cast by the way. Oasis sing "when it comes on top, you gotta make it happen" ;)

However regards playing for my club...if they help the team perform achieve better results then why not?

Not being funny, but what's different? Why do your standards change when it comes to football?
What would be the aim of booing Madine?

What would be the aim in signing Madine if this is a risk?

Exactly. Maybe the place has changed but it was difficult to avoid if you were out and about in the city centre on a friday/saturday night in the 1970s. Not everyone who has ever been in a scrap is a knob who starts trouble, sometimes it just comes to you and you can't avoid it, and you have to deal with it.

So Madines behaviour is normal then , thanks for clearing that up.

Yep, he idolized Ched, came to a few matches at BDTBL to watch him.

I remember a rumour, towards the end of his time at the Sty, that his agent had approached SUFC asking to meet to discuss him jumping ship to us.

He also came a few times to watch our Under 23s, usually with an entourage, not sure if he was watching a specific player or just wanted to see some football.

Yes but, with respect, Madine looks for fights, bullies and viciously assaults people when he’s had a drink. Fairly recent evidence suggests this behaviour hasn’t left him and he’s not a young lad anymore (28). He’s just a bad egg.

He’s clearly wanted to go down in Wednesday folklore too. Assaulting our fans whilst he was there like some retard football hooligan. And even years after his departure starting a feud with Billy Sharp. Then after perhaps apologising to Billy Sharp via a third party he then is caught on video showing no remorse for his comments and sarcastically mocking him once more. If it weren’t for his footballing ability he’d be a down and out Jeremy Kyle candidate, in and out of prison.

If you cared to look you'd see I have expressed no views on Madine himself in any of this.

How the hell you have translated what I have said about the prevalance of violence into condoning it is beyond me. Don't get your panties in such a bunch.

They play hoofball and hes a big lump. Cardiff fans think hes shite as well. Piss poor.

Have you spoken to any or making an unsubstantiated claim to make your baseless, generic argument fit with your personal view?

My mate who goes to 80% of Cardiff games says he's great at causing havoc with defenders and as a loan striker can hold his own. Not good enough for the PL but at championship level he was crucial to them finishing last season so strong.

In my view - just what we need.

Reading all the language used to describe Gary Madine has reminded me - I really miss Deadwood.

So why did he assault one of theirs too?

Too many conclusions being drawn from too little evidence in this thread.

Don't think any mention of who supported who was part of the conversation, that one was more of a "why are you staring at me".

The football one was the Blades fan who ended up in hospital.

Personally I witnessed him more times than he has been trialled for in action or trying to get some action. He used to run with some Wednesday muppets too who didn’t help him at times.

Came across like ... if you go out and get pissed and end up in a fight or beating someone up is nowt out of the ordinary ?

Because the bloke’s a complete cock who assaults people indiscriminately when he’s pissed. He was literally sent to prison for it, so the evidence was sufficient enough. He’s a serial offender and doesn’t seem to have calmed down.

A quick search returns several newspaper article results to this effect; Arson, GBH’s, ABH’s, using abusive language to men trying to do their work on the roads, abusing our Captain... There’s video evidence of him acting a prick. There’s multiple word of mouth stories from our fans’ who have had run-ins with him, or know someone who has. I’d be inclined to believe one of our own (as the Jury did), before I believed this cretins account of the events.

I don’t understand why people are making excuses for him. For me, his character (or lack of) is not in doubt. The only debate here is whether it’s a gamble worth taking. He’s not a good enough player for all this commotion.

Promotion

You reckon we are more likely to win promotion with him? I don’t. Cardiff fans don’t seem to think he offered them anything and they don’t have the back story we have. I think from a footballing perspective that this would be a complete disaster. You can tell from here alone that many fans would be against this so it starts off as a negative straight away. Negativity from home fans in a football ground leads to defeats.
