On a serious note, I won’t approve of the signing but nothing like this will stop me from supporting the rest of the team.

It's absolutely nothing to do with being righteous in any way. Believing someone who has a string of assault convictions/ charges, in conjunction with several very questionable forays into social media (at least one of which was against our club captain), to be vile and not someone you would want at our club is quite a reasonable position as a normal human being. And how can anyone answer the question anyway ffs?
Also, for me personally this has NOTHING to do with him being ex swine. Zero.

CW can do very little wrong for me, but I do not want him to play for us, and his signing would be a needless risk on several fronts, to say nothing of his lack of ability. Agree to an extent on your last point but it’s more about fickleness than a lack of intelligence.

Based on what I’ve read (which could easily be a mis representation) I don’t like Ched, don’t like Madine, don’t like Whitehurst , don’t like King and probably won’t ever like them but that doesn’t mean I want them to suffer, be attacked and abused, otherwise that would make you actually worse than them.

It means I won’t adore any of them , would be respectful but won’t be all pally if I ever met them, wouldn’t want any of them as friends and wouldn’t buy any of them a drink.

However regards playing for my club...if they help the team perform achieve better results then why not?

If you start applying moral standards to footballers there’d be few playing.
John Terry and Steven Gerard have had deplorable past behaviour but are still worshipped as legends at their clubs.
We have our own Tony Currie with deplorable behaviour in the past but he’s still a legend here.

If people genuinely feel strong about this then they should show their principles.
Write to the club and stop going to matches or even better...have a demonstration

Madine’s last conviction was in October 2013, it’s just my opinion but that suggests that he has learned his lesson and was probably a stupid immature young man at the time.

People can change, it’s unfair to label someone a “nasty evil cunt” based on mistakes made more than 5 years ago. We’re talking GBH and ABH, not murder or child abuse.

So Murder and Child Abuse (presumably you mean abuse with some sexual content) are a definite "no no" whilst GBH and ABH are, you know, merely a "Meh" on the scale of seriousness? Putting someone in hospital for weeks and permanently damaging their faculties is a definite "meh" in your book. Everyone should get a free hit at that during their early years. Not serious at all really. I mean, nobody died did they?

I'm a lovely bloke, but people who have known me for 40 years will tell you I am a miserable depressing twat with a vicious temper who can "kick off" at the drop of a hat. It's my personality. Madine didn't just make immature mistakes, he was and is a 6ft 4inch bully (which is why we are signing him) who has history even up to 18 months ago of violence to others especially when drunk.

My view is that he is another Evans. An unintelligent, over indulged, overpaid, classless, arrogant individual who cares nothing for other people. IMHO.

However, having said all that, does it preclude him from playing for Sheffield United FC? Regrettably not.

My post is referring to labelling Madine a “nasty evil cunt” and specifically the word “evil”. Not that I believe ABH and GBH are “meh” crimes.

Describing someone as evil should be reserved for the likes of Fred West, Yorkshire Ripper, Moors Murders etc. not those who get pissed up on a Saturday night and break someone’s jaw.

Evil is an extreme word and shouldn’t be used lightly.
