This ,I go to watch footballers play football ,leave the gossip to the sad wankers on facebook ,twitter and the shoutbox.
Does everyone think Currie ,Woodward ,Bradshaw ,Kenworthy even Wilder were angelic schoolboys ?
Give me a decent player with a past that will make Utd better ,over an angelic, money grabbing 'model professional' fiddling twat like Dean Hammond and his mentor anyday of the week.
If Bert's memory recalls correctly Currie got nicked on Eyre St for driving pissed up.
Maybe Silent Blade can also remember that.

11am tomorrow. You need to show your disdain before we sign him.
Unfortunately, and despite being the organiser I cant be there myself as I'll ne far too hungover so if someone could lob a shoe in some direction and tear up a season ticket on my behalf I'd be fantastically grateful.

DO IT DO IT DO IT.

That was one of my points in another thread. Or it might’ve even been this one? :)

One bloke has regularly said United would never employ scum like GM.

Now he's saying he's not done anything that bad and fans are pathetic for not getting behind the deal :p

Agree but the club have plenty of experience appointing perceived unsavoury characters.

When we bought Marlon King and Ched Evans (once found not guilty) it had no negative affect on attendances or commercial income.
The club will have evaluated the potential effect and must feel confident that gates will remain above 25K, support will remain united and very few will return their season tickets and/ or refuse to buy another.

My judgement is I agree, plenty of hot air but attendances and income will remain high, even if Madine is signed,
I'm not talking about revenue though, I agree that is unlikely to be impacted.

It is the negative atmosphere which could negatively affect our performances and will negatively affect the atmosphere amongst the fans.

A few dozen old gits bitching on a forum is not a representation of our fans.

Thankfully.

In a perfect world we wouldn't even think about signing him. But we don't live in a perfect world, and it's been obvious for a long time that Utd need a plan B option when plan A is clearly not working.

On the basis that we probably can't afford a quick forward who knows where the net is (even allowing for the fact that this type of on demand goalscoring player might not actually want to sit on our bench every game for 75 mins), I think we are fishing in a fairly poorly stocked pond. We therefore need to be pragmatic in our thinking and stomach the fact that he might be the best option available to us in the circumstances.

If he helps us go up and helps us get over the line, then fantastic. We give him a bonus payment and fuk him off. The lad might even have grown up a little since his admittedly stupid behaviour from 6 years ago. I've not heard is name in the media for quite a while.

It's a five month deal in effect and might just help us do the impossible.

I'm in, if CW wants it to happen. And i will be totally fickle and clap like a seal if he scores for us at Pigsborough.

Or realise we have 17 other players on a match day and support them to the point that they play well enough that Madine doesn't need to come off the bench.

Look, I don't think it's worth it, but I'm not going to stop backing the rest of the players and if he gives it a good go and helps us, he'll get a polite clap too.

Yeah I just happen to know the one single manager who ever did such a thing.

Even in that unlikely scenario it would still prove you wrong. Again.

You do like to think (rather arrogantly) that you are the only person with contacts in sport because you might know of a few local hasbeens. You rarely fail to mention it. Remember the imbecile who thought Wally Fucking Downes could play? Well, I saw him. He was absolutely garbage. You should see my telephone book, by the way. Don’t try to ‘old man’ me.

Managers do not ask players about incoming recruits. It’s absurd to even contemplate. It has no point or purpose and is a recipe for discontent and division, particularly if the manager gets answers he doesn’t want. What then? Let the players, some of whom will be fucking useless, veto someone coming in to take their place?

It really only takes a moment’s thought, you know.

Don't worry KN i'm sure Brian will do it on your behalf....before telling tufty which team he should play for the Barnet game, inc which pies the club sell and telling KM to put a sign up saying free haircuts 2pm sunday.........:tumbleweed:

I'm hardly wishing any of this on, I'll likely never stop coming to BDBL and signing Madine won't stop me coming or supporting the rest of the team.

Plenty of grown men need to grow up in my opinion. He’s a bell end when he’s pissed. Or at least was. He’s served jail time and as far as I’m aware has kept out of trouble since then. Rehabilitated perhaps? You never know.

But I’ve seen some people suggesting fans are ‘at war’ with each other.

Come on. Grow up.

Up until very recently, Madine was a full weight cunt to the vast majority on here. Never realised how well loved he was by some of our supporters. To think this knob will be sharing a changing room with King William, Chris, you must be out of your mind. Looking forward to the reception he receives if/when he is introduced to the crowd.

that's a big 'other than ' really ,but hassling defenders and hold up play with his strength will also aid us.

I think I worded my question wrong. I should have asked do you really think that Madine would fit into a team that plays the way that we do?

His best season have come whilst playing for long ball teams

Usually ones up against it ,maybe an attacking dominant team that creates plenty of chances with good players around him will suit him ? Lets hope so.

Let’s have the evidence. It’s your bullshit I don’t believe.

What he has mentioned recently is the ‘noise and nonsense’ emanating from our daft fans about early crosses.

S2 - hearing what they want to hear since 1889.

That’s a very, very big swerve, but then you do have experience of changing the subject when you have nothing better to add.

As I said before, football management has thankfully moved on since your day. People have come to realise there’s a better way of doing things. You keep believing otherwise though, if it makes you feel better.

I've just been in Sainsbury's on my phone asking my mate "you heard about Gary Madine" when some bloke suddenly shouted at me "WE DONT FUCKING WANT HIM" and stared at me with crazed eyes. I had to inform him that I have nothing to do with the signing. He was absolutely furious.

I should also add that it’s not just about Madine, it’s about his type of player. I just can’t see how a big lump of a player fits into our passing system, regardless of who it is.
