It’s called social media hysteria, the witch hunt brigade.
Everyone these days has this desire to feel outraged, it’s the latest fashion.
Also in order to make a point more valid many people have this tendency to exagerrate their viewpoint.

A good manager should take a pragmatic approach, you need to be cool and calculated not emotional.
Wilder is obviously happy with our normal passing game (plan A)
But if teams sit back and prevent us from having space then our plan A struggles to create anything and we have no plan B.
Some have suggested our only plan B might to deliberately let the opposition have tbe ball and let them attack us (like Reading away).
Wilder must be aware that non of our attackers offer any height or physicality. We never look a threat during our numerous corners.

I reckon Wilder is well aware of Madines weaknesses, play him wrong and he’s league 1 standard at best
However Wilder would say if we play to Madines strengths then he provides us with a totally different attacking option.
I think he’ll be similar to Hanson, generally poor, mainly sub appearances but he’ll be the main reason we win certain games.
And them extra 6 or 7 points that Madine helps us win might make the difference between finishing top 2 and playoffs.
A pragmatic approach would evaluate the impact his signing will have amongst the fans.

I despise social media for so many reasons, but being able to call out wankers for being wankers isn't one of them.

You’re telling me something doesn’t exist just because you’ve never come across it. You’re also now telling me about my own life.

As I said before, back in your day this might have been the case but the world has moved on. What you think you know is quite possibly no longer relevant.

The thing you’ve also ignored, in an effort to believe your own bullshit, is that Wilder himself has even told us that consulting with the senior members of the squad is something that he does.

Let’s have the evidence. It’s your bullshit I don’t believe.

What he has mentioned recently is the ‘noise and nonsense’ emanating from our daft fans about early crosses.

S2 - hearing what they want to hear since 1889.

Be interesting to see what the FH regulars make of this tonight. I say 'interesting' in the broadest and most ironic sense mind.

We'll have high horse moralising from Rawmarsh Mick [who will for to great pains to point out that he was one of the first pigs to condemn Madine when he was convicted] with a little dig about Ched and Marlon King along the way no doubt.

He will backed up by Kevin 'erm erm' the Barnsley Blade, with further reference back to Ched.

Then Mark the armed robber will be along to chip in, along with that lunatic from Brinsworth [I think] who sounds like he shouts at people through his living room window.

Can't wait

Once again, I post a video of his goals at S6 - he isn't just a big lump, he isn't just a target man.

Put the piggie bashing to one side and watch the sort of goals he can score.

It won't change your mind on him being a twat - it should change your mind about what he can do in front of goal.

What evidence is that? Please don’t cite the Star?

What do you say to the evidence (that is most certainly there) of Tufty and Knill that the ‘early crossing’ fan mania is ‘noise and nonsense’ and Blades fans are talking drivel as usual.
If he hasn’t consulted the players regards this then it would be rank bad management but we know he’s not a bad manager, don’t we?

The noise and nonsense comment was due to him being pissed off at the media questions, the media thinking he doesn’t already know what he’s doing wrong, knowing he needs to and will correct it himself. The evidence is there for all to see with how quickly we’re moving the ball and how quickly the crosses are coming in, to what was happening previously to the noise and nonsense comment.

First time balls in to the box are happening more and we even have Hendo booting the ball upfield towards Sharp very quickly to set up our goal at Wigan. Everything we do is quicker.

Every word is true.

No it's not. I know one ex-manager who discussed a potential signing with his core group of senior players.

To justify your position you must have spoken to every single manager on this subject.

View attachment 47676 Here you go even those on the dark side have more trust in wilder than some of our own bed wetters.
The bed wetters you are talking about don't seem to be concerned with how well Wilder can get him playing though do they.
It's not that they don't trust Wilder to get him playing, they just don't want the bellend playing in our shirt.

Thats the reason I despise social media - the people who call out wankers but wouldn't dare say it to their face.

One manager? Once? That has the general proposition in tatters.

It wasn’t Brian the Blade, a noted manager, was it?

That's me and Tufty in the Red Lion at Todwick. I'm showing him my caravan accommodation details for my March holiday in Chapel St Leonards. He's going to lend me one of his mosquito nets. You can never be too careful, he said. How anybody can mistake 5 foot nowt me for 6' 2" Gary Madine is anyone's guess.... Sheesh...
Might be better with a smackhead net to be fair pal!!

The sad thing about this likely signing is how it inevitably causes a rift between our own fan base. I totally get why people find the possibilitity of him coming as a bad idea and they find his past an obvious problem both in playing for Wednesday and more importantly, it seems, his well publicised court case.

However, If you don't want to support Madine fair enough but I am willing to support him signing and don't want vilifying on here for that by fellow Blades. I will cheer him if he scores for us and I wish him the best. I do believe in second chances for people and players and from what I've seen of him at Blackpool, Bolton and Cardiff he has kept his nose clean and has become a decent footballer, albeit he hasn't done well at Cardiff on the pitch.

We do need in my view another option up top, I was hoping for Michael Smith from Rotherham because he's similar and I knew it would avoid this crap, but Madine, if given a chance by our faithful, could actually prove us wrong, but you need to be open to that in the first place. I don't see posts calling him a cunt as constructive and when you consider the support we gave Ched that the majority of our fan base were willing to give then I don't see why we can't for Madine, because then its clear that whatever our fans say about Madine and the off the field stuff being the reason for their negativity, his ex Wednesday past in reality is a major reason as well as his past. I don't think Andy Carroll signing (lets just assume he's fit for once) would get this negative response and if you look what he's done over the years its similar off the pitch - he smashed a glass in a mans face in a bar, and there's the incident with his ex-girlfriend that was dropped but his car was torched as a result.

I've been at work all day. Can someone tell me if we look like signing Madine or not? I'm not reading 25 pages of bickering. Thanks

A pragmatic approach would evaluate the impact his signing will have amongst the fans..

Agree but the club have plenty of experience appointing perceived unsavoury characters.

When we bought Marlon King and Ched Evans (once found not guilty) it had no negative affect on attendances or commercial income.
The club will have evaluated the potential effect and must feel confident that gates will remain above 25K, support will remain united and very few will return their season tickets and/ or refuse to buy another.

My judgement is I agree, plenty of hot air but attendances and income will remain high, even if Madine is signed,

It could all be a Wilder Wind Up to deflect us from picking up on his actual targets.

Well, one can hope!

That was one of my points in another thread. Or it might’ve even been this one? :)

I would say Madine caused us far more problems than Smith and has played at a higher level.

Yeah I just happen to know the one single manager who ever did such a thing.

Even in that unlikely scenario it would still prove you wrong. Again.

Well if that’s your preferred style, enjoy.

As for noise and nonsense. Nice try but you’re completely wrong. The Knill and Wilder interviews are still on Football Heaven Online. Have a listen. They entirely refute the early crosses drivel. Sorry. I know Bladey Blades see things as they wish rather than as they are. I deal in uncomfortable truths.

If Wilder wants him that's fine by me. What the hell do I know I'm not a football manager. If he's a success we will all say Wilder is a genius. If he fails then Wilder gets pelters.
Wilder is the best manager we've had for years, I trust him to make the right decisions with the limited pot he's got. Iets, wait and see.
